Cher, 78, can’t remember who she lost her virginity to

Cher has claimed she can’t actually remember who she lost her virginity to.

The 78-year-old music icon opened up about her first encounter in her recent book Cher: The Memoir, Part One, recalling that it happened with a guy in Toluca Lake.

During a chat show appearance on Tuesday night, host Jimmy Kimmel joked that the area isn’t far from the studio and asked if she would be able to point out the spot.

She laughed and quipped: ‘I wouldn’t remember the spot and I don’t remember the guy!’

Jimmy then responded: ‘He hasn’t reached out to you? You know he must have been telling everybody. right?’

The Believe hitmaker said: ‘No. I have people that I’ve mentioned in there and I’m wondering, what do they think?’

She also mentioned one man she named in the book – but declined to during the television appearance – who was ‘very instrumental’ in helping her leave ex Sonny Bono, with their marriage ending after 11 years in 1975.

‘I wonder, I mentioned his whole name, so I wonder, how does he feel about it? But he must feel good, because he was a really good person,’ she added.

In her memoir, Cher admitted her first sexual experience was ‘massively overrated’.

She explained that it stemmed from her having a crush on a boy in her neighbourhood who she started dating when she was 14, with them often kissing in her bedroom.

But she recalled that the boy’s behaviour started to change when his friends were around, saying he went from acting ‘sweet’ to treating her ‘like an embarrassing kid’.

One day when the boys were planning an outing to a restaurant, they mockingly asked her boyfriend if he was going to bring that ‘kid’ – leading him to dump her.

Cher went on in her autobiography: ‘I was so hurt when he did that, I had revenge sex with him. I had never wanted to. Otherwise, I would have done it one of the 500 other times he asked.

‘But I was so angry at being dismissed, I decided to – if not lose – loan out my virginity to him.’

She also couldn’t resist adding that she wasn’t impressed by his performance.

‘When what turned out to be a massively overrated experience came to an end, I asked him, ‘Is that it? Are we finished?’

Then I told him to go home and never come back. I wanted him to feel just as dismissed as he’d made me feel.’

Cher went on to meet Sonny as a teenager in 1962 and they began working together, before things became romantic.

After tying the knot in an unofficial ceremony in 1964, they made things official a few years later, following the birth of their son, Chaz, in 1969.

Due to the tumultuous nature of their relationship, things weren’t to last and they finalised their divorce in 1975.

Cher went on to marry Gregg Allman in 1975, and welcomed son Elijah with the rocker – before they legally separated in 1979.

She has also enjoyed high-profile romances with Gene Simmons, Val Kilmer and Tom Cruise, before going public with music executive Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards in November 2022.

At 38, Edwards is almost 40 years her junior.
