Christina Haack Sparked Backlash With Her 'New Boyfriend' but There's More to the Story

Christina Haack hasn’t even finalized her divorce with Josh Hall but fans are already keeping an eye out for signs she is dating someone new.

The HGTV star generated quite a reaction when she posted a photo with…. gasp… a man, prompting her followers to think she was revealing a new boyfriend just three months after splitting from Hall after two years of marriage.

Despite sending fans into a spiral with an Instagram post with a new man, Haack does not appear to have a boyfriend amid her ongoing divorce with Hall.

Haack sparked dating rumors when she posted a photo with her “friend” Jared Merrell on Nov. 2, writing, “Happy Birthday to my brother from another mother. @jaredjstar25 Thank you for ALWAYS being such a great friend. Love you and your family so much. So happy to be celebrating you all weekend.”

“Omg! Not another husband.” wrote one follower. “Next failed marriage coming soon,” added another critic.

However, these cruel commenters referencing Haack’s three divorces don’t have their facts straight as it appears Merrell is, as she pointed out in her caption, just a friend.

Throughout the weekend, Haack posted a series of Instagram stories with a group of women, one of whom appears to be Jared’s wife as her username is @mrsjstar25. Merrell posted a series of photos with his wife back in September, celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary.

Merrell, the owner of pre-owned car dealership JStar Auto Group, seems to be a longtime friend of Haack. On Instagram, he is followed by Haack’s ex Tarek El Moussa, whom she was married to for seven years until 2018. He is also followed by Tarek’s wife, Heather El Moussa, also follows him and Ant Anstead, to whom Haack was married from 2018 until 2021.

Haack’s social media comments have been filled with backlash since she and Hall both filed for divorce back in July.
