Christine McGuinness spent time with Strictly Come Dancing professional Kai Widdrington after posing for a selfie together.
The TV personality, 36, visited the Pride of Britain Awards last week, where she encountered the Strictly dancer. The duo were seen catching up outside London's Grosvenor House Hotel, where the event was hosted, and later snapped a beaming photo together.
The show of affection comes after Kai split from fellow Strictly Come Dancing star Nadiya Bychkova. Although the pair were believed to have separated amicably, Nadiya admitted last week that they are "not friends" any more. Meanwhile, Christine split from her husband Paddy McGuinness in 2022 and has reportedly been devastated by the jokes about their divorce in his new stand-up tour.
Kai and Christine were seen leaving the exclusive event together before heading off home in separate taxis. Before parting, the pair posed for a cosy photo that Kai shared to his Instagram account.
An insider told the sun: "Kai was a true gent and waited until she was safely in a taxi home and gave her a friendly peck on the cheek goodbye."
Christine made a defiant comeback at the awards after reportedly being left distraught by brutal jokes from Paddy, with whom she shares three children.
During the opening night of his new stand-up tour, Nearly There, in Blackburn, Paddy said: "Tonight, folks, we're all here as human beings with one common goal - and that's to help me pay for my divorce. I've had the pants down, me, the pants down."
Not everyone enjoyed the joke though, as Christine was "distraught" at the thought of strangers "laughing" at her. An insider told the Sun that the model felt "shocked" that the former Top Gear presenter Paddy made such a crude reference to her.
The source told the outlet: "She was devastated yesterday and was horrified to be a laughing stock, she didn't know Paddy was going to make her the butt of his jokes and felt shocked that he did. She has kept a respectful silence throughout their divorce proceedings and their marriage fallout."
Christine and Paddy married in 2011, but announced their split in joint statements shared on Instagram two years ago.
They said: "A while ago we took the difficult decision to separate but our main focus as always is to continue loving and supporting our children. This was not an easy decision to make but we're moving forward as the best parents we can be for our three beautiful children. We'll always be a loving family, we still have a great relationship and still live happily in our family home together." Despite their separation, the former couple chose to continue living together to raise their children together.
Kai has also been struggling with the fall-out from his breakup recently, with Strictly insiders revealing that the frosty dynamic between him and fellow Strictly star Nadiya is making the live shows "very tense".
The source told The Sun: "It's painfully obvious Nadiya and Kai are in the awkward post-break up phase and struggling to be near one another. Obviously that's the risk that comes with dating someone at work, so they're both trying their best to steer clear of each other.”
