RHOBH’s Dorit and PK Kemsley ‘Not Talking About Reconciliation’ Amid Separation

Season 14 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is giving fans plenty of drama. And a cigarette-smoking Dorit Kemsley is at the center of it. She is feuding with her former bestie, Kyle Richards. Plus, she is navigating a separation from her husband, PK Kemsley. RHOBH viewers are watching a brand new Dorit this season.

In May 2024, the couple announced that they were separating. Incredibly, amid her marital struggles, only two cast members checked in on her: newbie Bozoma Saint John and eventually, Kyle.

So, are Dorit and PK working towards a reconciliation? “We are not talking about reconciliation. We’re not in that part,” Dorit told PEOPLE. “I think that there’s a lot of work to do, absolutely. The kids come first and co-parenting is of the utmost importance to both of us. I think that the only way for us to do that and to do it well is for us to remain amicable and friends.”

She continued, “That’s always my first choice. Now with PK, sometimes he can choose whether or not we’re going to stay in that space, so we’re navigating it.” Is that a nice way of saying that he is calling all the shots?

According to Dorit, it sounds like PK brought up the decision to take some time apart. “There’s still a lot of love there. This was a choice and a decision that was made,” Dorit explained. “It was made mutually, initiated by PK, and that was in a time where, okay, we’ve been trying to work at this, we have good moments, we have bad moments.”

Still, Dorit maintains that she never tried to hide the state of her marriage while shooting RHOBH. “When I had shot the show, PK and I were never in places that were negative and trying to hide it. I don’t think you can actually do that, to be honest,” she said. “But the nature of this season, a lot of things came to light and I was sharing them as they were coming. And that’s throughout the entire season.” I must say that Dorit’s openness is refreshing.

“I think that once he made the decision to get sober and to take the journey, things became very clear,” the fashion designer said, “and he had a lot of work to do on himself. And I think … that was a contributing factor to us also deciding to [say], ‘Okay, let’s separate, take some time apart, work on ourselves individually and collectively and see where we end up,” Dorit added.

I’m a fan of this outspoken Dorit and can’t wait to see how this season of RHOBH unfolds.
