Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey Adds More Alums to Its Cast

3 hours ago 2

While we’ve yet to see anything from it yet, Christopher Nolna’s upcoming take on The Odyssey is already looking like one of his most exciting projects. With an A-list cast featruing Matt Damon, Tom Holland, and Zendaya, we’re all curious to see what the filmmaker does with the material, and what other stars are coming along for the ride.

On Friday, the Hollywood Reporter revealed a new quarter of actors with currently undisclosed roles. That would be Himesh Patel (recently of The Franchise), Elliot Page (Umbrella Academy), Samantha Morton (The Serpent Queen), and Bill Irwin (High Tide). Aside from Morton, these folks have worked with Nolan before: Page famously played Ariadne in 2010’s Inception and Irwin voiced and operated Interstellar’s TARS robot back in 2014, while Patel more recently popped up in 2020’s Tenet. These four make for The Odyssey’s newest additions after fellow Nolan alum Benny Safdie joined earlier this week, and Jon Bernthal the previous week.

Based on Homer’s famous story about Greek hero Odysseus’ grueling trek home from war, Universal previously described The Odyssey as a “mythic action epic shot across the world,” and talked up the IMAX tech used to make it. Production’s set to begin sometime in February, and reports have indicated it’ll be Nolan’s most expensive production to date. Knowing Nolan, it’s going to look good as hell and feel big, so count us in for The Odyssey when it releases on July 17, 2026.
