Clemens mocks those who promised to leave if Trump won: Make sure the door doesn't hit you in the ass

Roger Clemens, one of the most recognized pitchers of the 1990s and early this century, has never been known for his subtlety in conducting himself off the diamond. That is why the 'Rocket' celebrated in a not very elegant way Donald Trump's presidential victory in 2024 and mocked those who threatened to leave the country if the Republican won again for a second term, which will now begin next January.

"Whoever said 'I'm leaving the United States if Trump wins'... don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out," Clemens, 62, wrote with an acid message on his X account once it was confirmed that the Republican victory was irreversible.

Their message is aimed at some celebrities who openly criticized Trump and made this protest of leaving the country if this victory in the election, including Whoopi Goldberg, Amy Schumer, Samuel L. Jackson and Bryan Cranston.

Once the victory was secured, Trump users on social networks and some media outlets reminded people who made this promise, when Trump won the presidential election for the first time in 2020 and also remembered that they all backtracked and remained right where they were before the election.

Meanwhile, other celebrities such as Andy Cohen, actress Christina Applegate, rapper Cardi B and author Stephen King shared their frustration on social media over Trump's victory. However, none of them said they would leave the United States.

In a second message, Clemens also highlighted the size of Donald Trump's victory as a victory "huge for our great country" and took the opportunity to praise the proselytizing work done by Tesla owner Elon Musk, as well as Vice President-elect JD Vance and "the people" who chose this electoral platform.

"I'm so proud of the people. We did it!" wrote the two-time World Series champion with the Yankees.

Roger Clemens' Republican heart

Clemens, an 11-time All-Star pitcher, has lived in Houston, Texas, for decades and in 2019 was invited to run for Congress by the Republican Party in his home state of Texas. He also wrote a message asking for an end to the polarization created by Trump himself during his election campaigns, as he said that once Americans elect a president, any animosity for whoever serves as commander-in-chief should cease.

"I am a Republican and I support our president and will continue to do so," Clemens said. "It doesn't matter who our president is, I will continue to support and encourage him to succeed, just as I did when President Obama was in office," he said.

Meanwhile, other celebrities such as Elon Musk, Amber Rose, Zachary Levy and Brittany Mahomes also expressed their support for Trump during the election period. The same goes for people like Hulk Hogan, Kid Rock and Waka Flocka. However, the most prominent sports-related celebrity to support Trump is UFC CEO Dana White, UFC commentator Joe Rogan, NFL superstar Nick Bosa and former Houston Astros pitcher Greg Swindell.

It is worth noting that at the beginning of this century, when Trump had not yet entered politics, he expressed his support for Clemens during a substance abuse scandal in which he was involved and in which his former teammate, pitcher Andy Pettitte, testified against him. This led to a federal indictment against the 'Rocket' for lying to Congress in 2008.

"@AndyPettitte testified against his best friend @RogerClemens in a ridiculous trial. Not good! Who supports Andy P?" Trump posted on X in 2012.
