NBA insider Chris Haynes broke the news via X.
Leonard and his family are just among the many affected by the wildfires that struck Los Angeles on Tuesday, and they continue to do so on Wednesday.
Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick also stated that his family was affected by the wildfire and had to evacuate.
"I just want to acknowledge and send thoughts and prayers to everyone in the Palisades right now," Redick said. "That's where I live.
"Our family, my wife's family, my wife's twin sister, they've evacuated. I know a lot of people are freaking out right now, including my family. From the sound of things, with the winds coming [Tuesday night], I know a lot of people are scared. So I just want to acknowledge that. Thoughts and prayers for sure, and hope everybody stays safe."
Among those affected outside the sports world is Canadian actor Eugene Levy, who owns a property in the area. He told the Los Angeles Times he was stuck in gridlock traffic as he attempted to evacuate.
"The smoke looked pretty black and intense over Temescal Canyon," Levy told The Times via phone.
"I couldn't see any flames, but the smoke was very dark."
Another prominent actor, Ben Affleck, was photographed attempting to return to his multi-million dollar Palisades home Tuesday evening, only to be turned away as flames engulfed the Palisades neighborhood.
Leonard purchased a $17 million mansion in the Pacific Palisades in 2021.
The superstar forward has recently returned to the court after missing time due to a significant knee injury. In his return, Leonard has played in two games, averaging 10.0 points per game, 2.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.0 steals in 20.0 minutes of action.
With Leonard unavailable for Wednesday's game against the Denver Nuggets, James Harden and Norman Powell will see more usage, and Terance Mann and Derrick Jones could be more involved.
