Coldplay frontman Chris Martin stopped their show in Sydney after spotting a young boy struggling in the crowd with fears he could be crushed

The 47-year-old singer spotted the youngster in the standing section of the crowd at the Thursday night gig and told the band to stop playing while he organised security to help the boy into a better place.

Fans shared footage of the heartwarming moment on TikTok, as fans praised Chris for his intervention. In the video clip, Chris can be heard organising the boy's rescue as he points to a safer spot in the audience for the young fan. Chris says in the clip: "You can sit right here, you don't have to be squeezed. You don't have to be squished by all these adults."

The singer then added: "Sit right there my little brother...better? We'll take care of you man." Fans of the band were loving the intervention Chris made to save the youngster, with one writing in the comments section: "Such a class act."

This comes after the band suffered a health emergency ahead of their Australian stadium tour. Bassist Guy Berryman was struck down with an illness before the band plated Melbourne's Marvel Stadium and then band had to perform for the first time without him.

Speaking to the crowd before the gig, Chris said: "We will have a slightly different show and we'll do our best to make it amazing because we are in Melbourne with all you beautiful people. If you see some mistakes and problems, it's because we don't have our bass player. You won't see Guy tonight because he is vomiting."

The band later thanked fans for their understanding, in a post on Instagram after the show. They wrote:"Tonight was the first time in our band's history that we've played a show without all four members onstage. Guy was taken ill unexpectedly just before the show. Thank you for carrying us through it."

The post prompted well wishes from fans in the comments section, with one reaction reading: "Get well soon, Guy! We love you so much." Whilst someone else wrote: "All the best for Guy! I hope he makes a speedy recovery."

A third person commented: "Get well soon Guy, sending you lots of get well wishes and lots of love." Another follower responded to the news this week: "I hope Guy gets better soon." And one fan wrote: "Speedy recovery, Guy."

Coldplay has played three shows at Sydney’s Accor Stadium with their final concert taking place on Sunday night before heading to Auckland for three sold-out shows, as part of their Music of the Spheres tour.
