Craig McDean Makes a Return as Max Mara Campaign Photographer for the Fall 2024 Season

2 weeks ago 5

Ian Griffiths of Max Mara remains loyal to Craig McDean. Griffiths first called upon McDean to lens the Spring 2024 campaign last season. The switch marked a departure from campaigns captured by Ethan James Green, and from the long-serving Max Mara campaign photographer Steven Meisel before that. Griffiths, who joined Max Mara in 1987 and became creative director in 2005, welcomes back McDean for the Fall 2024 season and enlists models Ali Dansky, Bibi Breslin, and Luiza Perote as the faces of his collection. The girls roam Lever House on 390 Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, New York City complete with styling from Tonne Goodman.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“Max Mara is like the perfect office brand. So to it in that kind of environment (or at least that evokes that) is fresh. Good campaign and a nice twist to the white backgrounds we have been used to,” appreciated Lola701.

“One of the few less-hyped brands who are nailing it every time,” tourbillions applauded.

“The interior feels very Milanese. Loving it,” enthused forum member kasper.

Yet not everyone was so impressed. “Young models posing with exaggerated leg strides isn’t selling me sophistication,” voiced tigerrouge.

“So they got Natasha Poly, Caroline Trentini, Guinevere van Seenus, and Gemma Ward for the show but somehow these kids booked the campaign,” helmutnotdead critiqued of the casting.

“I feel like I have seen this campaign many times already,” avonlea002 noted.
