Love Island's Curtis Pritchard takes brutal swipe at ex-girlfriend

Curtis Pritchard made a dig at his ex-girlfriend, Sophie Sheridan, whom he dumped before appearing on Love Island.

Upon entering the All Stars villa with Catherine Agbaje and being greeted by host Maya Jama, Curtis candidly addressed his previous relationship, revealing, "I knew it wasn’t right."

Reflecting further, he said: "[My last relationship was] about four months ago for me. It is kind of new but I just knew it wasn't right and if you know that then it sort of, I had to just end it. I thought I'm not going to cheat on her, I'm never going to cheat on anyone. I did that in my first relationship and it broke my heart as much as hers and I'll never do that."

Curtis' most recent relationship was with performer Sophie, whom he is believed to have met during a 2021 pantomime production of Cinderella in Wolverhampton. Rumours of a potential romance surfaced the following year, and it was later reported that they rekindled their relationship after his appearance on Love Island Games.

Just six months ago, Curtis made their relationship Instagram official, posting a heartfelt tribute after the couple returned from a trip abroad. The professional dancer shared photos of himself and Sophie during a holiday at the wellness resort BodyHoliday in St. Lucia.

One photo featured the pair posing for a selfie on a boat, with a picturesque coastal backdrop, while others captured moments from inside the boat. Curtis captioned the post: "This really is a before and after picture. Before the boat party started and after the boat party started. [Sophie] looking beautiful as always but me on the other hand. Had the best time away with my [heart emoji]."

Curtis first rose to fame on the fifth series of Love Island in 2019. He initially coupled up with Amy Hart, but their relationship ended when he admitted his feelings had changed. He then began a romance with Maura Higgins, which continued outside the villa but ended in March 2020. Since then, Curtis has appeared in various reality TV ventures, including Celebs Go Dating: The Mansion in 2020, and made his acting debut in Hollyoaks alongside his brother AJ Pritchard in 2021.

In November 2023, Curtis joined the first season of Love Island Games , and in last night [January 2025], he returned to the franchise for Love Island: All Stars , hoping to find love once again.

However, his return to the villa has stirred concerns for his ex Maura Higgins, who is now in a relationship with Pete Wicks. A source told The Sun : "Curtis signing for All Stars is more than awkward for Maura just as she’s fallen for Pete and they’ve finally gone public with their love. Her break-up with Curtis wasn’t the best and Maura always worried he’d be the ex that could blab. It’s also less than ideal when she’s hoping to build on her I’m A Celebrity profile and advance her career."
