RTÉ presenter Dáithí Ó Sé has been praised for opening up about a very common medical fear - the dentist.
The Today show star revealed in an Instagram post that he hadn't been to the dentist in 31 years because of how apprehensive he was.
However, that all changed today, when the Kerry man decided to face his fears and take a trip to the dentist.

"I hadn't been at the dentist in 31 years," he revealed. "It was something that hung over me for so long. I was terrified to go anywhere near a dental surgery."
Dáithí went on to say that he was sedated during his time at the dentist and can honestly say he didn't feel a thing or remember any of it.
"I had a huge phobia and real fear. That's not the case anymore. Thanks to Dr. Alma [of the Galway Dental Group]," he added.
People went on to praise the presenter for opening up about his fear, adding that it may inspire other people to brave their own fears and go to the dentist for a check up.
"Delighted you got sorted Dáithí! You’re in great hands there with Alma. And good on you for being open about how long it had been. That’ll really help others see they’re not alone. Huge congrats," said one commenter.
"Good on you for sharing this. So many people have a fear of dentists," said another person.
"Well done Daithi, heard you speak of it on the Today Show. A lot of people had bad experiences over the years and were put off. Glad it went well," added another well wisher.
"Jesus I’m the same absolutely put the fear of god in me," said another person who feared the dentist.
Well done to Dáithí for conquering his fears, and also for opening up about them so other people don't feel so alone!
