Dancing On Ice fans have been left heartbroken as two of the show's beloved stars have confirmed they're waving goodbye to the series.

Since its debut in 2006, the hit TV show Dancing On Ice has challenged celebs like Jake Quickenden, Ray Quinn, and Ryan Thomas to take up the formidable task of mastering intricate routines on the rink.

As the 17th season of the frosty competition nears, with stars like Ferne McCann, Michaela Strachan and Chris Taylor training intensely to become ice-dancing maestros, a pair of renowned series regulars have announced their impending exit.

Scottish pro skater Mark Hanretty, an icon in the series since his arrival in 2011 and partner to Adele Roberts in the last instalment, took to Instagram with his bittersweet goodbye: "I'm back! Hard to believe I'm embarking on my 12th series of Dancing on Ice," his post began, sparking excitement and nostalgia within his fanbase.

He continued, "I'm as excited as ever and so grateful for the chance to work on the greatest show on ice once again. This will be my last year as a pro skater and I'm eager to soak up every second of it! Good luck to all the team and here's to a fantastic series!"
