Daniel Craig has addressed the on-going debate about who the next James Bond will be, claiming he 'does care' about who replaces him but it is not his 'problem or decision'.
The actor spoke to The Times about his final time as the secret service agent and the mystery of his replacement. Daniel departed from the role in 2021, when the film 'No Time To Die' came out.
He said: "I keep saying I don’t [care], because people ask me all the time and I’m an ornery, grumpy old man, so I say I don’t give a s**t,"
"But I care about it deeply — deeply. I care what the franchise does, because I love Barbara [Broccoli] and Michael [G Wilson, the producers]. But it’s not my decision or problem. I wish them luck."
Since the first 007 film, the 27 film franchise has seen seven actors play James Bond, reports the Express.
Sean Connery, David Niven, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig, have all played the secret agent throughout the years.
The Bond franchise is the fifth-highest grossing film series of all time, with over £5.7 billion so far.
Enthusiasts have been trying to guess the next actor who will replace Daniel, as the new 007 since he announced his departure from the franchise.
There has been a lot of speculation, and it was reported earlier this year that Aaron Taylor-Johnson had been "offered" the role by the Bond producers at EON. The Sun announced that the role was his for the taking during an exclusive report, yet nothing has been confirmed.
Earlier this month FreeBets.com announced Aaron as the favourite to become the new British Secret Service agent. The 34-year-old actor is no stranger to starring in action films, with having previously acted in the Kick-Ass movies, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Godzilla and Bullet Train.
