Davina McCall has spoken out for the first time since undergoing brain surgery, sharing a heartfelt message with fans on Instagram from her bed.
The 57-year-old TV presenter became emotional as she expressed her gratitude to those who have reached out to her, saying: "Hi, I just thought I'd check in and say an enormous heartfelt thank you to everybody who has messaged me or been in touch."
Choking back tears, she continued: "It's... God... It's meant the world."
Davina shared that she is now back home and recovering, but admitted that her short-term memory is a bit affected, saying: "My short term memory is a bit remiss, but that is something that I can work on so I'm really happy about that. I'm writing down everything that I'm doing to keep myself feeling safe."
She thanked her loved ones, including her partner Michael and her mum, for their care and support, and gave a special mention to her stepmum Gabby, saying: "I'd quickly like to big up the step mums. I don't really say thank you to Gabby enough. She's been an amazing rock my whole life."
As she became tearful again, Davina said: "I was talking yesterday to someone and I said I've got a massive dose of vitamin G."
She sniffed before continuing: "I think when something like this happens I just feel so grateful."
Davina added that she has always felt grateful, but this experience has made her feel "unbelievably grateful" and thanked her fans again for their support.
"I'm on the mend, I'm resting, I'm sleeping loads and I feel really good. I just feel very lucky."
These were the words from a recent video caption where Davina expressed her gratitude towards a circle of support that includes her partner, mother, pals and the diligent medical staff looking after her. She noted: "I am feeling much better. Had a great nights sleep in my own bed. Have a couple of sleeps during the day which keeps my brain clear... slowly slowly... huge gratitude, and love for the world and my life and the beautiful people in it."
Her heartfelt post drew attention from celebrity friends, with singer Olly Murs commenting: "Awww so happy you're back home Davina x we all love ya! ! " "Good to see your lovely face. Rest up and let those lovely people take care of you," encouraged Loose Women's Ruth Langsford, while This Morning's Alison Hammond chimed in with a caring "Get better soon superstar."

After being offered a health scan, doctors uncovered a benign tumour on Davina's brain known as a colloid cyst – a rarity she shared with her followers. Addressing her surgery decision, she revealed the motivations behind it, saying: "I saw quite a few neurosurgeons, I got lots of opinions. I realised that I have to get it taken out. It's big for the space – it fills the space. It's 14mm wide. And it needs to come out because if it grows it would be bad."
She explained: "It will be removed via a craniotomy – they go through the top of my head here, and through the two halves of my brain to the middle, get the cyst, empty it, take it out, and Bob's your uncle. So say a prayer for me. I am in good spirits."
