Davina McCall's reality TV show, My Mum, Your Dad, has reportedly hit the pause button. The ITV series, which started as a dating platform for single parents two years ago, is rumoured to have been put on hold due to a lack of middle-aged dads who "fitted the bill".
It's believed that filming for the new series was set to kick off later this year. However, the broadcaster has allegedly decided to "park" the show for now, hoping more suitable applicants will come forward.
This comes just four months after the second series aired in September last year, following the debut series in 2023. A source told the Sun: "Strangely there were lots of stunning women in the 45 to 65 bracket who wanted to take part, but a sad dearth of men who fitted the bill."
They added that the same issue arose during the production of the second series, but they "just about managed" to find enough participants.
The source concluded: "But when it came to the third outing they realised it was just going to be too difficult, and decided taking a break might be the best option."
An ITV spokesperson recently spilled to The Sun that My Mum, Your Dad, which first captivated audiences in September 2023, has garnered a "fantastic audience response" after two smashing series and keeps on pulling in viewers with its "strong performance" on ITVX.
Not mincing any words, the spokesperson revealed: "There are currently no plans for a new series in 2025 owing to other priorities in our schedule, but we may revisit the show at some point beyond that."
TV darling Davina, 57, graced the screen as the host, introducing a bunch of single parents — put forward by their cheeky kids — to possibly find love again at a lush country retreat.
The telly sensation kicked off with a ten-episode spree broadcast over two thrilling weeks on ITV.
Echoing Love Island vibes, the reality hit made a comeback for its second outing last September, whisking away another set of hopeful singletons to the charming digs in West Sussex, once more dishing out ten episodes across a fortnight, reports the Mirror.
