Demi Moore is back on top of Hollywood in a big way as she scoops awards for her latest movie. A source exclusively tells In Touch that The Substance star’s kids have been instrumental in her comeback while encouraging her to keep building on this latest success and keep showing the younger stars how it’s done.
“Demi’s girls are in awe of her, she’s literally their hero, which is how it was when they were all little girls,” the insider says. “It’s no secret that they did go through a time when things were tough between them and their mom, but that is so far behind them all now.”
The source describes Demi, 62, and her daughters, Rumer, Scout and Tallulah, “as close as any mother and daughters could get,” and adds that Ghost star is “always saying how blessed she feels.”
“They have been her biggest cheerleaders, and she actually gives them a lot of input into her career choices. She always checks with them on what they think and they all encouraged her to do The Substance,” the insider explains. “When she had any worries or fears about it all they gave her pep talks to boost her up. They all think she’s been horribly underestimated when it comes to her talent and believe that she’s still got way more to accomplish in her career, they’re so thrilled and proud and also excited about what’s next!”
Demi won big at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards when she took home the win for best performance by a female actor in a musical or comedy for her role in the body horror film at the event on January 5.
“I really wasn’t expecting that. I’m just in shock right now,” the G.I. Jane star said during her acceptance speech. “I’ve been doing this a long time, like over 45 years, and this is the first time I’ve ever won anything as an actor. I’m just so humbled and so grateful.”
Demi continued, “Thirty years ago, I had a producer tell me I was a ‘popcorn actress.’ At that time, I made that mean that this wasn’t something I was allowed to have. That I could do movies that were successful, that made a lot of money, but that I couldn’t be acknowledged. I bought in and I believed that and that corroded me over time to the point where a few years ago, I thought maybe this was it. Maybe I was complete, Maybe I’ve done what I was supposed to do.”
Her daughters didn’t hold back in celebrating their mom’s achievement. Scout, 33, posted a video of herself, along with friends and family, watching the awards ceremony from home. Everyone erupted into cheers when Demi’s name was called as the winner for the category.
“SHE DID IT,” Scout captioned the video.
She followed up in the comments section and wrote, “This is a huge win for EVERYONE,” while Rumer, 36, added, “GO MAMA GO. So so proud of you. Omg I love you so much. So well deserved.”
