Following being benched, the Giants had Jones lining up as a scout defender in practice, leading many to believe that his release was incoming. That moment happened, and reports came in that multiple teams were interested.

One of the biggest teams rumored to attempt to land Jones is the Las Vegas Raiders. Despite many rumors indicating that he would and could end up there, Jones has removed the team from consideration.

According to the report, Jones wants to join a playoff contender, which makes a ton of sense. Jones might have been released, but he is still a starting-caliber quarterback.

Jones has had to deal with an offensive line that has not done enough to protect him. He comes in at No. 7 in the NFL as the most sacked quarterback, having been sacked 29 total times. It's no surprise that his stats have not jumped off the page as he has had to deal with being under pressure a lot this season.

Jones has also been knocked down a league-leading 44 times. Simply put, he has not been placed in the best case to succeed. Through 10 games, he has secured 2,070 yards, eight touchdowns, and seven interceptions. That also includes 265 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Jones has already been garnering interest from many teams, including the San Francisco 49ers, Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings and many more teams. It would be smart for him to potentially join the Vikings or Dolphins.

The Dolphins have Tua Tagovailoa, but his injury concerns are always going to be a point of contention for the team. Backups Snoop Huntley and Skylar Thompson also proved that Miami needs a more viable backup in case Tagovailoa is to go down with another injury.

Jones might be a viable upgrade at the backup position, and with the Dolphins attempting a playoff push, they might make a strong push to sign the proven veteran.

Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold also had an injury scare on Sunday, and the team could be looking to secure Jones' services in case of an injury to Darnold.
