Dick and Angel Strawbridge from Escape to the Chateau have been busily touring the UK, bringing their Forever Home talk to major venues including the London Palladium.

The pair had been involving daughter Dorothy and son Arthur in the onstage antics, but the latter was in for a shock in Liverpool when a fan stripped off right in front of him. They are now considering making a major change to prevent it from happening again.

Chuckling wife Angel found the stunt "hilarious", but Dick fumed: "I don't think a chap should do that." It was prompted by the couple's request for audience members to think outside of the box to get their "attention", so that they could be selected to make an appearance with them onstage.

In London, Angel admitted she was choosing contestants to take part in the interactive part of the show based purely on their "clothes", and took a fancy to someone's mermaid themed green sequin dress. However, in Liverpool, it was more about a lack of clothes - and Dick's now putting his foot down.

Talking on their podcast, Dick and Angel's Chat...Eau, he explained: "We have to be careful about selecting people from the audience now because my selection technique has had to change." Angel griped: "I can't believe that you've changed it again."

He shot back: "I've had to because I said to people, 'If you want to come on stage, do something to get my attention.' It started in Liverpool, but somehow people thought that taking their clothes off would get them on stage."

Though Angel saw the funny side, he insisted: "I think it's wrong, I don't think a chap should do that."

Then the mood turned more light-hearted as they joked: "When the young lady did it, Arthur nearly fainted."

The interactive part of the show that audiences were competing to be involved in is called Jack of All Trades, and has seen fans go head to head with each other to try their own on stage renovations.

They're put through their paces doing exactly the same things Dick and Angel needed to do when converting their dilapidated chateau into a magnificent restored home - minus their notorious encounters with sewage of course.

Activities in London included tiling a portable wall and mastering electrical wiring, before being judged on their efforts with a clapometer measuring the strength of the audience's reaction to each finished project.

Meanwhile, after reading our review of the show, you can catch Dick and Angel on tour until November 17th - check here to see if your city's included.
