Sean “Diddy” Combs is going at case prosecutors again… this time, he says they have been spying on him and blocking his access to his laptop.
The rapper was given the laptop on November 25 “to review discovery, take notes related to his case and otherwise assist in his defense,” but has not been able to use it since.
Diddy has been accused of witness tampering since being behind bars and was recently denied bail for a third time over fears that he may try and intimidate potential witnesses.
Diddy has denied trying to reach out to witnesses but his former Dirty Money bandmate, Dirty Money, has accused him of trying to shut down her lawsuit against him.
Government officials say the rapper can only use the laptop in the video conference room when legal staff is present or in the legal visiting room between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. His attorneys slammed the rules, calling them “untenable.”
“The government exploited Mr. Combs’ detention by engaging in unfair and unconstitutional tactics that have interfered with his ability to work with his attorneys and make it impossible for his attorneys to provide effective assistance of counsel,” attorney Alexandra Shapiro said. “The evidence shows the government is using Mr. Combs’ detention to spy on him and invade his confidential communications with his counsel.”
Combs will be spending Christmas behind bars.
Diddy has denied all allegations against him.
