Diddy Facing Updated Indictment in Ongoing Federal Trafficking Case

Bad news for Sean “Diddy” Combs as he has been hit with a new superseding indictment in his ongoing sex trafficking case, federal prosecutors revealed Thursday. The updated indictment alleges that the music mogul’s actions over the past 20 years were more widespread and prolonged than originally stated. Combs, who has already pleaded not guilty to charges including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and prostitution, is scheduled for trial on May 5.

Sheesh. This just keeps getting darker and darker.

Get this, the new indictment, which does not bring any additional charges but extends the timeline of the alleged crimes, now covers the period from 2004 to 2024. Prosecutors say the conduct spanned two decades and involved “abusing, threatening, and coercing women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires.” It also includes new alleged victims of sex trafficking, though they are identified only by number.

Trigger warning … One of the most disturbing details in the superseding indictment is the inclusion of a video showing Combs allegedly assaulting his then-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, inside a Los Angeles hotel. The footage reportedly shows Combs kicking, dragging, and throwing a vase at Ventura. Prosecutors claim that Combs, with the help of several associates, paid hotel security staff $100,000 for the video, which they say was kept as part of a broader pattern of abusive behavior.

What’s more the indictment also highlights the coercive methods Combs allegedly used to control victims. Prosecutors claim that he forced at least three women to engage in “commercial sex acts” that he referred to as “Freak Offs.” These incidents were said to sometimes last multiple days and were allegedly recorded by Combs himself. Additionally, the indictment states that Combs often provided controlled substances to the victims, allegedly to keep them compliant and obedient.

Defense attorney Marc Agnifilo, representing Combs, dismissed the updated indictment in a statement reported to ABC News. “The latest Indictment contains no new offenses. The prosecution’s theory remains flawed. The government has added the ridiculous theory that two of Mr. Combs’ former girlfriends were not girlfriends at all but were prostitutes. Mr. Combs is as committed as ever to fighting these charges and winning at trial.”

Combs, who was arrested in September, has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn and recently abandoned an attempt to be released on bail. While the updated indictment has not altered the timing of his trial, it marks a significant development in a case that has drawn widespread attention.

So is it truly over for Diddy or nah? Let us know what you think @thesource.
