Diddy‘s arrest for racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and more is arguably one of the biggest legal moments in music culture. The charges themselves are severe, but the almost yearlong experience of lawsuits filed against him, his homes being raided by Homeland Security, and footage of him assaulting Cassie coming out makes it even more of a big deal. A consistent subtopic throughout this entire case has been who else may have been involved in what he was allegedly doing, or at least, knew of it.
Though many people have been silent, one man has not: the controversial mogul’s former bodyguard, Gene Deal. It has felt like every day there is a new interview clip or article dropping where he speaks on things he saw or knew related to Puff. His name and thoughts come up so frequently, that they have become both numbing and overwhelming simultaneously.
Another conflict related to Deal is deciding what is true and what’s not. With Diddy on the proverbial gallows, it is easy for anyone to come forward and reveal things that may not actually be true. Most recently, he said that Jay-Z hid from 2Pac in a Las Vegas hotel room before a concert, hinting at Hov being fearful of the late rapper, even though there was no known direct issue between the two. His proximity to Diddy lends itself to having some credibility, but in this day and age, one has to be apprehensive about taking anyone’s word at face value.
The community may never know the truth, but the claims will likely not stop. So, read through some of Gene Deal’s most shocking claims below.
-
The Notorious B.I.G Wasn’t Killed In A Drive-By Shooting
Last February, Deal sat down with The Art Of Dialogue and claimed that The Notorious B.I.G’s shooting was not a drive-by; rather, the car was sitting outside waiting for him “all night.” He also said had an eerie feeling that somebody was going to die that evening.
“Wasn’t no drive-by; the car was standing there at the corner,” he said before later calling out movies that falsely depict what happened. “Every Biggie movie that you see, they say it’s a drive-by. When the witness tells you the car was stood right there at the corner — the car was probably there all night.” His claim is already wild, but the fact he said “probably” makes it even more controversial because it calls his certainty into question.
“I saw this kid lose his life — this kid died while I was pulling him out of the car,” he said. “Before we left Andre Harrell’s house, Puff told me I didn’t have to go. Now, I went because I knew that somebody was going to die that night, somebody was going to get shot. I did everything in my power to stop it from being Puff, and it wasn’t Puff.”

Diddy Threatened Bad Boy President With Baseball Bat
This past July, The Art Of Dialogue asked Deal about the story of Diddy threatening former VIBE editor Danyel Smith; specifically, threatening to kill her and put her in a trunk.
Deal wasn’t aware of whether or not he said that he would kill her, but he did believe that he may have said he’d put her in a trunk because he said the same thing to former Bad Boy President Kirk Burrowes.
“That’s the same sh*t when Kirk Burrowes wouldn’t sign over his rights to Bad Boy, his 25%, that he was threatening to do [that] to Kirk,” he said. “‘Like yo yo, put that ni**a in the car and drive him around.’ So I could see him doing that sh*t with the putting in the car stuff.” The interviewer asked him a follow-up question regarding the threat to Burrowes, and Deal shared more details.
“Yeah, yeah he told Kirk Burrowes that when he was threatening him with those baseball bats,” Deal said. “I think it was, like, Kirk had to sign over Bad Boy. He had like 25% of Bad Boy, but for them to get the deal, everything had to be [in one]. Like, somebody couldn’t own 25% for Puff to do the deal. So, Kirk had to sign over his shares for them to do the deal which I didn’t never understand. It wasn’t my business to understand. But Kirk ended up signing over it back to Diddy with the promise that he was gonna get it back once they did whole thing with Clive Davis and everything. Kirk had to be threatened in order to do it.”
Deal clarified that Diddy didn’t threaten him with a real baseball bat, but rather the mini ones fans could get at baseball games. “‘You gon’ take this long ride or you gon’ give up that percentage of the company,'” Deal recounted.

Kim Porter’s Casket Was Ordered Two Months Before She Died
Kim Porter, Diddy‘s ex-girlfriend, passed away from what was reported to be lobar pneumonia in 2018. However, over the years, many people have speculated that Puff may have had a hand in her death; that speculation increased when he was arrested. Gene Deal offered some startling information about the couple in an interview with The Art Of Dialogue.
He highlighted how allegedly her death was never investigated, her body was never examined in the bed where she died, all of her electronic devices were missing, and she had received a massage shortly before passing — despite being reported to have pneumonia.
The biggest claim though was perhaps the most shocking thing Deal has ever said: “Some people even said that her casket was ordered two months before she died. I don’t believe that, man, I’m not no conspiracy theorist but I heard […] How you order a gold casket two months before somebody die man?”

Nipsey Hussle Wanted His Music To Sound Like ‘Life After Death’ Before Passing
Before passing away in 2019, Nipsey Hussle developed a business relationship with Diddy. Gene Deal spoke about an interesting statement from the late rapper that made him raise an eyebrow when he learned that he had died.
“You got to watch what you say to these demons,” he told The Art Of Dialogue before telling a story of how Puff picked up a dove and it fell straight to the ground as if it was dead. He eventually got back on track and spoke about how he didn’t know Nipsey well, but knew what he was doing in his community.
“The music that he was putting out, that I could say based on conversations that I heard him speak, that the man was spiritually connected,” he said. “He was a child of God. He had got in front of Puffy one time and he told Puff that he was putting out this music and I guess Puff was helping him in some kind of way […] He said ‘I need my music and my albums to have the same feel of that Life After Death, like Biggie’s album.'”
Deal got very animated in reiterating that the “feel” came from the fact that The Notorious B.I.G got murdered, which made his music and the album title feel a bit more eerie, but also, sell incredibly well. Deal was asked if it was a good idea for Nipsey to start working with Diddy, and he was confused as to why he would work with him when he was already a doing a good job with the team that he had. “Somebody convinced him that that would be a good look for him,” he said. “But, no disrespect, he got what he asked for.”

Diddy Abused Usher To The Point Where He Needed To Go To The Hospital
Usher has been regularly cited as having lived with Diddy for some time, so when the allegations came up over the last year, people began to question if he was affected by any of what the controversial mogul allegedly did to women, or even men. Gene Deal spoke to The Art Of Dialogue and shared a troubling claim.
Deal claimed that he didn’t know who Usher was, but heard via an offhand conversation that he was sent to the hospital. “‘Puff sent this little kid to the hospital,'” he recounted. “‘How he send him to the hospital?’ ‘Man, ni**a was bleeding from the butt’ and that’s what was said […] You don’t know if it’s true, but you just heard it.” Deal especially didn’t know what to believe given the fact that other kids were coming forward with stories of their own.
He spent the rest of the video ranting about people who try to say that he witnessed the many things Diddy was accused of; Deal clarified that the only things he has ever spoken on are things that he knew to be true, and he would always distinguish what he saw from what he heard. He continually reiterated that he did not know Usher, but was bewildered by the severity of such a claim.

Diddy Had An Inappropriate Relationship With His Mother
Diddy has been a loud and proud “mama’s boy” throughout his career, but Gene Deal seemed to think there was more to it. He claimed that the “I Need A Girl” rapper had an Oedipus Complex with Janice Combs, which is defined as “a feeling of desire for their opposite-sex parent and jealousy toward their same-sex parent.” It was especially interesting because he had a long history of mistreating her, according to his interview with The Art Of Dialogue.
“This is the same dude, bro, that used to disrespect his mother,” Deal said, revealing that former Bad Boy president Kirk Burrowes once claimed to see Puff slap his mother. “I seen the love now they have for each other only on film or camera… YouTube or Instagram or whatever they were showing […] I don’t know how many dudes do kiss their mother in their mouth when they are 50, 60 years old… that’s them, that’s their whole thing.”
He pointed out how Janice Combs often wore white nail polish, which was something Cassie pointed out in her lawsuit. He went a step further and said she influenced his illegal activity because she ran a “prostitution ring” which was hidden and branded as a modeling agency. “Instead of being his friend, she should have checked Diddy’s a** when he was allegedly doing all that dirty sh*t,” he asserted.

Politicians Are In Diddy’s “Freak Off” Videos
Gene Deal spoke with The Art Of Dialogue about how Diddy‘s civil lawsuits and the ensuing raids were bigger than just him; he reminded viewers that while Puff was being investigated, Eric Adams and other New York City politicians were also being looked into.
“They turn around and give him the key to the city. All the mayor’s people that he brought on here in New York City are all resigning,” he said. “People ain’t gon’ tie this together but if you look at it, you have to say because of Mayor Adams and his relationship with Diddy, it brought on the Southern District of New York to start investigating Diddy on civil lawsuits that was put against him. ‘Cause the feds are going after all these politicians in New York City.”
The interviewer stated that he was aware of the feds saying they planned to pursue anyone who was involved in the alleged “freak offs” that they had on camera. “I think they not telling the whole truth,” Deal said.

The Truth Behind Diddy’s ‘Last Train To Paris’ Album Title
Diddy and Dawn Richard had a complex relationship. He handpicked her to join his group Danity Kane, which dissolved after two albums; he then kept her around to join Dirty Money and together they released his popular 2010 album Last Train To Paris. However, according to Gene Deal, the album title is deeper than music.
Richard recently claimed that she witnessed Puff and his associates “train” his assistant, otherwise known as engaging in sequential sex with her, poolside in Scotland. “We didn’t know what the ‘Train To Paris’ meant,” Deal told The Art Of Dialogue. “Now we know the ‘Train To Paris’ was a ‘train’ in Scotland, according to Dawn […] Now, only time I ever witnessed Puff doing something was when two guys and two girls would go in the room. And that was just regular.”
Deal said the former REVOLT chairman eventually got bold enough to where he would do these activities in front of his signee and other people. “I just think that, you gotta go back to the drugs and the alcohol man,” he added. “Those will make you do strange things. And for somebody to just gangbang an assistant, she might have a lawsuit now, too. ‘Cause you can’t do that to people that work for you.”
Richard’s lawsuit also stated that Diddy would remove her from songs or turn down her microphone when performing if she rejected his sexual advances. “All of it sounds like using his power to get at people that worked for him,” he said. “And when you do that, nine times out of ten you’re going to lose if they could prove it.”
