Rapper Drake's father Dennis Graham has reacted to his son's rival Kendrick Lamar winning at the Grammy Awards.

Kendrick, 37, was among the winners at the event in Los Angeles on Sunday. His song Not Like Us won five awards, including Record Of The Year and Song Of the Year. The track, which was released last year, also took home Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song and Best Music Video.

The song has been described as a 'diss track' and is said to include references to Drake - with Kendrick and his rival, who collaborated earlier in their careers, thought to have been in a feud for some time. The track led to Drake suing his label for defamation, with the 38-year-old Canadian rapper accusing UMG of allowing "'inflammatory and shocking allegations" because the song was a "gold mine" for them. Drake also claims the label promoted Not Like Us because they knew it would devalue his own music and give leverage in future contract negotiations.

While at the Grammys, Drake's father Dennis Graham, 70, was asked about Kendrick's success whilst outside the arena. His reaction was shared in a video by TikTok content creator Joy Of Everything. Asked about Not Like Us winning Record of the Year, Dennis responded: "I don't care enough about that s***." He went on to add: "That ain't got nothing to do with me. All the best to him, man. I don't do that bulls***."

Kendrick had been up against Taylor Swift, Chappell Roan, Billie Eilish, Charli XCX, Sabrina Carpenter, Beyoncé and the Beatles for Record of the Year. The accolade was presented by predecessor Miley Cyrus, who won it last year.

Accepting the award, Kendrick said in his speech: "First and foremost, all praise to the most high." He went on to share that a relative had passed away on Saturday, with him then telling the audience that it made the occasion "special".

He commented: "Rest in paradise to my aunty Sharon. She transitioned yesterday, so this is special right now. She's probably y'know watching it from up there so make sure you've got your smiles on. Make her feel good."

Kendrick then gave shout-outs to previous collaborators Dr. Dre and Swizz Beatz whilst on stage. He concluded his speech by dedicating the award to Los Angeles following the fires that have devastated communities in recent weeks.

He said: "We gon' dedicate this one to the city." He named his hometown of Compton, as well as other areas in the county like Long Beach and Inglewood. He said: "This is my neck of the woods that's held me down since a young pup. Y'know since I was in the studio scrapping to write the best raps and all that, y'know in order to do records like these.

"So I can't give enough thanks to these places that I rolled around since high school, and most importantly the people and the families out in Palisades and Altadena. This is a true testament that we're gonna continue to restore the city."
