Eamonn Holmes was flooded with support as he shared an emotional family update.

The GB News presenter, 65, tragically lost his mum, Josie, in November 2022. More than two years on from her death, Eamonn has paid tribute to his beloved mother by getting a painting made of the two of them.

Eamonn could be seen beaming from his wheelchair as he held up the painting, posing alongside the artist Annis Booker who created the piece.

Taking to Instagram with the image, Eamonn wrote: "Thank u Annis @drawingonemotions. Lovely work made lovelier by the surprise inclusion of my late Mum Josie. Thank you."

Eamonn's followers flocked to the comment, flooding the post with supportive messages.

One wrote: "So thoughtful. That's a touching idea."

A second agreed: "Wow what a touching and sentimental piece to treasure. I’m sure your lovely Mum would have loved this very much. I hope you find a special place to put it at home."

Another shared: "This is so beautiful and precious Eamonn. Your mum seemed like such a wonderful lady."

A fourth echoed: "This is so lovely Eamonn. Your mum is always by your side."

Josie died in hospital at the age of 93 in November 2022. Eamonn was unable to attend her funeral due to ongoing health issues.

The Northern Irish broadcaster has been grappling with severe mobility challenges following back surgery and relies on a wheelchair to get around, although he uses a walker for shorter distances.

Last year, he spoke about his ongoing "epidemic of pain" which resulted in him relying on a walking stick and wheelchair.

The former This Morning presenter acknowledged the "harsh reality" that he may never walk unaided again, but remains hopeful.

Around the time of Josie's funeral, Eamonn said: "It's as if somebody up there is playing with my life. In the past year I've had an operation on my back which went wrong and has confined me to a wheelchair.

"I've fallen and broken my shoulder. Honestly you could not make it up."

Although the back surgery initially relieved some of his discomfort, he subsequently learned he might never walk again.

Speaking to the Irish Independent, he confessed: "I have tried every treatment, but you go, 'Maybe I'll never get out of it,' which is a harsh reality to face."

On top of his ongoing health issues, Eamonn is in the middle of a divorce after splitting with Ruth Langsford.
