EastEnders is gearing up for a festive bonanza next week, but as always in Albert Square, drama is hot on its heels.
Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) takes the reins of Walford's Christmas lights switch-on and tries to enlist his fiancée Cindy (Michelle Collins) to lend a hand. However, after an incident with Kojo Asare (Dayo Koleosho), Cindy learns he's being brought out of a coma.
This revelation follows a romantic encounter between Cindy and Junior (Micah Balfour) before she visits Kojo in hospital. In another medical twist, Ian bites off more than he can chew and experiences chest pain. His mum Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) swiftly calls an ambulance for her son.
The doctors advise Ian to take it easy, while Kathy points the finger at Cindy for causing his stress. Will Ian heed their advice?, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Cindy is compelled to confess to Junior about Kojo discovering their affair and pleads with him to help keep Kojo silent. A jittery Junior has a chat with Kojo in the hospital, but will Kojo keep their secret?
Despite the threat of exposure by Kojo, the pair continue their illicit relationship. But when Junior gives Cindy a gift, Ian is shocked to find it in her coat pocket.
In other news, Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) is back from Brighton and quickly reconciles with Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), who urges her to reconnect with ex-girlfriend Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal).
The former lovebirds are soon embroiled in a heated confrontation, which ends with Eve storming out and leaving Suki devastated. Stacey steps in to offer some friendly advice, leading Eve to make a daring choice.
Seemingly back on track and ready to tie the knot, Suki and Eve appear blissfully happy as they hope for a smooth sailing relationship from here on out. But only time will tell.
Stacey has other worries on her mind as her mother Jean Slater's (Gillian Wright) scam saga continues. A concerned Stacey encourages her to report it to the police.
Jean is struggling, but she breathes a sigh of relief when a solicitor assures her that they can recover her money.
However, Stacey remains worried and asks Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) to investigate the situation - but what will he uncover?
Over at the Square, there might be a new Mitchell romance brewing when Teddy (Roland Manookian) heads over to Sharon Watts' (Letitia Dean) place for a date night, but things don't go as planned.
After Sharon kicks Teddy out of her house, the possibility of them becoming an item seems to dwindle. However, the blonde beauty invites him back to No. 43, much to Teddy's delight, but his ex-wife Nicola (Laura Doddington) is seething.
In other news, Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) continues to drown her sorrows, causing Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) to worry about the pub landlady.
Meanwhile, Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) finds it hard to get into the festive spirit and is shocked when she hears about Pastor Clayton's funeral.
