Eddie Murphy is back on the big screen. According to an exclusive report from Deadline, the veteran actor has landed a role in the upcoming Blue Falcon film. His character is described as a retired superspy who heads for the destination wedding of his estranged son, and finds himself in proximity with his archrival.
Blue Falcon will be produced by Davis Films’ John Davis, Cliff Roberts through Syndicate Entertainment, and Murphy and Charisse Hewitt-Webster through Eddie Murphy Productions. The script is by Chad St. John.
Things are shaping up to be busy for Murphy as he is also working on reprising his role as Donkey alongside Michael Meyers in the anticipated Shrek 5 DreamWorks Animation film, set to be relased in December 2026.
Additonally, Netflix announced a project on the 63-year-old, adding to a list of feature documentaries and docu-series set for the streamer this year. Titled EDDIE, the documentary is described as looking back on his extraordinary journey. The platform explains the following:
