Whether the wrestler eliminates the most opponents, lasts the longest in the ring, or even gets an exciting spot, it means they are etched into WWE history.
Unfortunately, it looks like one fan-favorite WWE Superstar will not be at the iconic event.
According to a report from PWInsider Elite, it has been confirmed that Dakota Kai is still in concussion protocol heading into the Royal Rumble this weekend.
Kai originally suffered the injury in a tag match against Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark of Pure Fusion Collective.
Because of this, Kai will not be able to participate in the highly-anticipated event despite being a member of Damage CTRL alongside IYO Sky, Kairi Sane, and Asuka.
Kai is also one of the top members in the Women's Intercontinental Championship scene, having recently lost a match against inaugural champion Lyra Valkyria.
While fans will definitely miss Kai in the Women's Royal Rumble, it's much more important that she takes the time to heal. Hear's wishing her a speedy recovery.

Kai began her professional wrestling career in 2007 with New Zealand Impact Pro Wrestling. She would remain a part of the New Zealand and Australian pro wrestling scene until 2017.
During this time, Kai would also appear in multiple other promotions around the world, including Shimmer Women Athletes and World Wonder Ring Stardom.
In 2015, Kai made her first appearance in WWE on NXT under the name Evie. In 2016, she signed her first contract and was announced for the 2017 Mae Young Classic under her current name.

Kai would spend the next five years with WWE where she would become the inaugural NXT Women's Tag Team Champion alongside Raquel González, now Raquel Rodriguez. However, they'd lose the title later that night.
After being released from WWE on April 29, 2022, Kai would make her return as a member of Damage CTRL at SummerSlam 2022 about three months later.
In her time with WWE, Dakota Kai has won the NXT Women's Tag Team Championship twice and the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship twice, the former with González and the later with IYO Sky.
