ELTON John appeared to be in high spirits as he beamed in a brand new snap - his first sighting since confessing that he is losing his sight.
The singer, 77, shocked the showbiz world when he told crowds at the launch of his The Devil Wears Prada that he "couldn't see the stage" as a result of deteriorating eyesight.
Despite his health woes, the performer beamed in a brand new snap taken to celebrate a major musical achievement.
The star looked over the moon as it was revealed he had bagged yet another Number 1 album.
Sir Elton posed proudly with his Official Charts plaque to celebrate the achievement and told the publication: "I'm overjoyed!"
Diamonds has become his ninth album to race to the top of the charts in news which has clearly left the star delighted amid his recent health plight.
He first experienced problems with his eyesight after suffering a horror eye infection.
In an interview with Robin Roberts on Good Morning America, he said: I unfortunately lost my eye sight in my right eye in July because I had an infection in the South of France."
The superstar added: “It’s been four months now since I haven’t been able to see. My left eye is not the greatest. It’s been a while since I’ve done anything. I just have to get off my backside.”
Speaking on the US breakfast show to promote his latest documentary, Elton John: Its Never Too Late, the superstar singer said that losing his vision has derailed him, but suggested that it should improve over time.
“It kind of floored me, and I can’t see anything. I can’t read anything, I can’t watch anything. There’s hope and encouragement that it will be okay. But I’m kind of stuck in the moment, going into the studio and recording, I don’t know. Because I can’t see a lyric for start.”
Elton first gave an insight into his vision problem with a post on social media back in September, when he revealed that he was suffering from a serious optic infection that left him with limited vision in one of his eyes.

He said: “I am healing, but it’s an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye.”
In December, Elton addressed his eyesight problems once again as he celebrated the launch of his The Devil Wears Prada stage show.

"I haven't been able to see the performance but I have enjoyed it."
He continued with a tribute to his supportive hubby David, 62, saying: "To my husband who’s been my rock because I haven’t been able to come to many of the previews...
