Former talk show host Wendy Williams, 60, is reportedly “permanently incapacitated” amid her ongoing health issues. Wendy has been battling dementia and aphasia for the past year. Now, her legal guardian shares a heartbreaking update.

New court documents filed by Wendy Williams’ legal guardian, attorney Sabrina Morrissey, state that Wendy is now “cognitively impaired, permanently disabled and legally incapacitated,” reports People.

Wendy Williams’ dementia diagnosis

Last May, Wendy was diagnosed with aphasia and frontotemporal dementia (FTD).

The last time the former talk show host was reportedly seen in public was back in August when she was spotted at a store taking a photograph with a fan.

Per People, a store employee said Wendy seemed “sharp, upbeat and aware,” and “very bubbly” during the visit.

Now, her legal guardian shares an update on her health, stating that the former talk show host is “incapacitated.”

Wendy’s reported “permanent incapacitation” comes as a result of her health taking a decline following her dementia and aphasia diagnoses just months ago.

Wendy has dealt with multiple health issues

During her life, Wendy has shared many of her health battles with the world.

The former talk show host’s court-ordered guardianship began in April 2022 following her ongoing health issues with Graves’ disease and lymphedema, reports People.

Around this time, she stepped out of the spotlight.

A year later, Wendy was diagnosed with progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia.

She released a statement the same day sharing how she felt “immense gratitude for the love and kind words I have received after sharing my diagnosis.”

Wendy said she “hoped that others with FTD may benefit from my story,” adding “I continue to need personal space and peace to thrive…”
