OG TV cast suddenly axed after decades of fame

Many Vanderpump Rules fans are in shock this November as Bravo reveals the show’s original cast has been axed. Over the past 11 years, viewers have seen Ariana Madix, Tom Schwartz, Katie Maloney, Lala Kent, and co all grow up on screen.

The Vanderpump Rules stars all kicked off their reality TV careers working at Lisa Vanderpump’s LA establishments. These days, some are running their own businesses, some are parents, some are divorcing and others are shutting down restaurants.

Vanderpump Rules cast overhaul

After Scandoval, it’s safe to say Pump Rules was never really the same.

As the show’s OG cast members including Scheana Shay and Tom Sandoval are cut, some fans are saying they “should’ve known” this was to come, given how season 11 ended with some side-by-side video clips of the stars in both season 1 and 11.

Hard reboots are not uncommon at Bravo with other shows such as The Real Housewives of New York City revamping the whole cast

According to People, the Pump Rules OGs only learned about the reboot one day before the rest of the world, but they “weren’t surprised” by the news.

“They’re understandably upset that it’s all coming to an end, but no one was necessarily surprised… It’s more relief that they finally have an answer,” says the insider.

Following the news, some of the cast members have taken to social media to share some words upon their axing.

Ariana writes on Instagram that she was “up until 4 am looking for the right pics and words” for her post, adding:

“Vanderpump Rules, you will forever be that girl… I am forever grateful to have been a part of such an incredible cultural phenomenon…

“…thank you especially to the fans. You’ve been the constant over the last decade your love and support is what I’ll miss the most about it ending. You made this show what it is… I’m feeling at peace with closing this chapter and im excited for everything that is to come.”

Although the Pump Rules reboot is a big shift for the show, Lala says she’s welcoming the move: “It’s no secret I do not like change. This is the exception.”

Lisa Vanderpump also took to IG to thank the OGs for their time on the show: “What a wild ride the last 11 years have been. Thank you to all of our cast for sharing your lives and stories and for being a part of this journey. How I’ve loved each and every one of you.”

Pump Rules stars’ fame isn’t over

Although the news of a reboot may come out of the blue for many, fans need not fret – we haven’t seen the last of the Pump Rules stars.

Tom Schwartz, Lala Kent, Scheana Shay, and Brock Davies have reportedly filmed scenes for The Valley season 2, reports Deadline.

The Valley kicked off as a Pump Rules spin-off earlier this year and sees former stars of the Bravo show all grown up.

The Bravo stars will appear alongside The Valley season 1’s former SUR-vers including Brittany Cartwright, Jax Taylor, and Kristen Doute.

News of Tom, Lala, Scheana, and Brock appearing on The Valley doesn’t appear to have landed that well with viewers.

Many take to a Reddit thread to slate some of the reality stars, with some wiring: “Well now they ruined the valley.”

Another comments: “I hate this so much.”
