Ryan then turned to the audience, who shouted out "get better soon, Polly!"

Maclean thanked his panto friends for the message, sending "love to all the gang," and shared messages he has been receiving of support from the cast.

He also gave an update on his health, saying that he is now on the mend.

Doctors diagnosed the actor with a rare condition called rhabdomyolysis, which he is now getting treatment for.

Rhabdomyolysis is a rare muscle injury where muscles break down, and can be a life-threatening condition, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

Maclean previously opened up to RSVP about his busy Christmas schedule, saying: "Christmas is mental because we are only off on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day."

He and his fiancée Cat like to spend quality time with the children during the festive period.

"We all get into our pyjamas on Christmas Eve and sit back and watch a movie that you have probably seen 20 times before."
