Fatboy Slim has been forced to close his restaurant after a rat infestation was discovered.

The DJ, whose real name is Normal Cook, has had to close the establishment while it has a deep clean after inspectors said it was "a risk to safety". The Big Beach Cafe in East Sussex was given a hygiene rating of just one out of five last month when mouse droppings were found in food areas.

The report said that food was kept at 15C when it should be below 8C. It also stated that lettuce was not washed before use, chopping boards were worn and one of the chefs was not wearing an apron.

It said: "This presents an imminent risk to food safety. You are required to have adequate procedures to prevent pests." The council is due to return to check all the necessary fixes have been put in place.

The Sun reported that Brighton and Hove City Council said: "In instances where we consider there a risk to customers’ health, we work with the business." Fatboy Slim is said to have bought the cafe's lease from Sir Paul McCartney's ex Heather Mills back in 2013.

Despite being separated for almost a decade, it was recently reported that Zoe Ball has been spending more time with her ex husband Fatboy Slim. They have had a rocky time since their split in 2016, having walked down the aisle in 1999. However, it seems the pair have managed to move on and become good friends in recent times.

A friend from Hove told the Daily Mail: "They always seem to be together." While another claimed to the publication that the former couple have been attending their son Woody's DJ gigs together.

Zoe recently moved from her £2million country home to a townhouse in Brighton, where Norman also lives. It has been claimed the former couple often come together for family occasions as well as Sunday lunches with their children Woody, 23, and daughter Nelly, 14.

The pair had met in 1997 when Zoe flew out to Ibiza to collaborate with Norman on a show for BBC Radio 1. They tied the knot two years later and welcomed son Woody in 2000. However, the years that followed weren't smooth sailing and, in 2003, the pair briefly separated after Norman, now 61, discovered Zoe had been unfaithful with his pal DJ Dan Peppe.

They got back together three months later and, in 2010, welcomed a second child, Nelly. By 2016 however, Zoe and Norman announced they had 'come to the end of our rainbow'.
