Users are experiencing vibrations on the Galaxy Watch 7 that don’t come with notifications. These random vibrations are seemingly out of nowhere and are happening for more than a couple of users.
The Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra are Samsung’s latest smartwatch offerings, which means they’re capable of a lot. Tons of apps are now available in the seventh generation of Galaxy Watches, and that means there is a potential for the watch the malfunction with so much going on.
According to a couple of users of Samsung’s official forum, the Galaxy Watch 7 seems to be experiencing random vibrations that don’t come with notifications. The watch will vibrate and the screen doesn’t turn on or showcase an alert. This is seemingly happening on a regular basis, which is understandably annoying.
This problem isn’t uncommon, and there are a few different reasons for the issue. Some have expressed success in turning off Samsung’s Health Platform, which transfers fitness data across platforms. Further, others have noted that Google Maps may be the culprit, in which case turning off the “mirroring” options in the app may solve the issue. WhatsApp has also been the cause for some experiencing the issue, though even uninstalling it and reinstalling it may not work.
It’s clear that this issue is not an event with one specific catalyst. If a slew of apps can be causing these ghost vibrations, then it might be prudent for Samsung to implement notification settings for the Galaxy Watch itself. A similar feature on Android allows users to silence specific notification categories within an app. Doing so may be beneficial for apps that cause phantom vibrations.
