If you've ever thought to yourself "I wonder what The Mountain from Game of Thrones is up to these days, we've got just the update for you.
As reported by Tom's Hardware, the man who played Queen Cersei's sadistic bodyguard, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, has been putting his muscles to the test with a new kind of career best.
The star attended the SC24 event in Atlanta last week and tackled the "deadlift of data" challenge to see how much an athlete can lift in terms of data., hitting 282PB (those are Petabytes, with each one representing a thousand terabytes). In physical terms, that equates to a staggering 996 pounds (or around 452kgs).

Most expensive deadlift
The lift was planned by tech companies VDURA and Phison, which work in AI and storage technology respectively. The lift used Phison drives, and they were put into heavy metal casings that would probably pose a challenge to many lifters on their own.
The top deadlift remains considerably more at over 1200lbs (580kg), but the value of the drives likely makes this the world's most expensive rep.
PC Gamer has done some number-crunching and posits that the value of the drives combined is likely around $32 million (almost £25.5 million), which would certainly make this the priciest deadlift in history.
I've thrown my back out just thinking about it...
