It's been a little while coming but the all-new and ultimate Kindle Scribe finally goes on sale today. The flagship e-reader was first shown off all the way back in October but Amazon has, until now, only allowed fans to pre-order it. Luckily that has all changed with shoppers now able to head to Amazon's online store and get the new Scribe shipped straight away.
And there's more good news for anyone who fancies buying one of these smart digital books with Amazon offering a whopping 20 percent off when handing over an old device. That's not all as there's also the option to grab a gift card worth up to £80 as well.
"Get an Amazon.co.uk gift card and 20% off one new Kindle when you trade in," Amazon confirmed on its website. With prices for the new Scribe starting from £379.99 this is definitely a deal that will make things feel a little more affordable.

So, what's new about the Kindle Scribe, and should you buy it?
This device was announced alongside the latest Kindle, Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle Colorsoft and features a stunning new design with a flush front 10.2-inch glare-free display.
Amazon has made the styling more appealing than the original Scribe thanks to white bezels that surround the panel rather than the usual black frame.
Along with a new look, there's also a better stylus in the box. This fully upgraded Premium Pen offers a more true-to-life experience with Amazon promising that it feels like writing on real paper. That will make it far better when scribbling notes, writing memos and adding annotations to books and documents. This digital stylus also gets an upgraded look and feel as well as a shortcut button for faster switching between features.

It's not just on the outside where things have change with some software updates offering new features such as something called Active Canvas. This automatically creates space for your thoughts when writing on top of books. That makes it much easier to add notes as you read.
Other extras include up to 64GB of storage, it can last for a massive 12 weeks on a single charge, it comes in a new Green colour and it has an auto-adjusting front light sensor for reading at night.

It looks like a nice device, but one thing to note before tapping the buy button is the price of the original Scribe. With a new model now out, Amazon has slashed the cost of the older e-reader with things now starting from £214.99.
That's a huge saving of over £100 and is also massively cheaper than purchasing the latest £379.99 model.

Amazon's first Scribe might not be as feature-packed as the new model, but it's worth considering if you want an e-reader with a pen and don't want to pay a premium price.
