Sexyy Red and GloRilla interviewed each other for XXL recently where the two rappers opened up about their music careers and more. While the entire conversation was full of standout moments, one particular part has been causing a debate online.
During the discussion, GloRilla addressed the frequent criticism of female rappers for being “too sexual.” The St. Louis star, who is mostly known for her vulgar lyrics, didn’t hold back in her remarks about the topic.
“I think y’all some haters,” she addressed critics. “I think y’all don’t want y’all bi**h to shine because y’all insecure.” Sexyy then compared women being “too sexy” to men who have their “chest out” or “little tiny d*ck print showing” with their “drawls sagging.” She continued, “It’s not a problem when y’all do it, but y’all stealing our style—it’s wrong when we do it?”

The clip quickly went viral, sparking a wave of mixed reactions from fans.
Under The Neighborhood Talk‘s repost of the moment, one user commented: “Girl, what are you talking about? While self and sexual expression are common in female rap, people judging the actual music based on the content is very different than people hating on women for being secure and comfortable with their identity. I lost a lil’ brain cells listening to her, but she tried tho.”
Another person speculated that Sexyy Red is an “industry plant” and was placed here to “spew the message” of degrading sexual music. “They always have it planned out who’s next up. She was linked with Drake for a reason,” they added.
In addition to the touchy subject, the “WHATCHU KNO ABOUT ME” collaborators teased fans with the idea of a potential joint project. “It’s gon’ be some super ratchet sh*t,” the Memphis star promised. “The ni**as [are] gon’ hate us. No, I mean the men gon’ hate us.” Sexyy chimed in saying, “Because we both trench-certified, you know? Two young ladies.”
