Dodgers Star Could Bolt For $75 Million Deal With NL Contender In Free Agency

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernández had quite a successful year in Los Angeles. The righty slashed .272/.339/.501 with 33 home runs, 99 RBIs, 32 doubles, and a career-high 4.3 WAR. Hernández would hit cleanup in manager Dave Roberts' lineup for most of the season en route to a World Series championship.

A reunion with the Dodgers would make the most sense. Hernández seemingly enjoyed his time in Los Angeles and the Dodgers could always afford to bring him back. Returning to the Dodgers would be returning to the front runners to win the 2025 World Series.

There are teams like the Cincinnati Reds lurking as well. From a pure needs standpoint, the Reds need Hernández as much as anybody. Cincinnati has a young core and a legendary manager coming out of retirement to manage the ball club. If the Reds could add Hernández's bat behind Elly De La Cruz and Matt McLain, they could steal the National League Central crown.

Hernández has also been linked to his former team, the Toronto Blue Jays. Toronto traded the star outfielder a few years ago, but now it's in a place to contend again, and bringing Hernández back would be a great start. Toronto has the money to spend after whiffing on Juan Soto and others as well.

Prediction: Teoscar Hernández signs with the Cincinnati Reds. Three years, $75 million.

The Reds would be overpaying very slightly to bring him in. In a pure bidding war, the Dodgers or Blue Jays win this one and it's not very close. So, if Cincinnati wants to bring him in, it'll have to turn his $60 million deal into a $75 million deal.

It'll be worth it for general manager Nick Krall if the free agent righty is smashing home runs in Great American Ballpark for the next few years.
