Logan Paul surprised the professional wrestling world when he announced that he had retired from the profession on his 'Impaulsive' podcast.

Now, less than a week later, Paul has already come back from retirement.

At the WWE Raw on Netflix kickoff event at WWE Headquarters, Raw general manager Adam Pearce officially announced that Paul was part of the Monday Night roster.

"Lately, there's been a lot of speculation, innuendo, rumor about the future of the person I'm about to bring out here right now," Pearce said. "I'm here to say that it is officially time to put it all to rest. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the newest member of the Monday Night Raw roster, Logan Paul."

Paul proceeded to compliment the company while noting the drawing power of himself and brother Jake Paul, saying that "a payday with a Paul brother is a bucket list item for most all of these washed up fighters."

However, Paul caught everyone off-guard when he declared his intentions to challenge for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

"Yeah, I am a bully, and the WWE is my playground," Paul said. "So, look... I'm not here to take part, I'm here to take over, your approval means nothing to me."

"Whether you love me or hate me, I don't care because you're still watching and you will stay watching because you're a spectator, and I'm a star, and I promise, everyone in the crowd watching and everyone watching at home, you are looking at the future WWE World Champion, and his name is Logan Paul."

This would be the third time Paul has challenged for a world title in WWE, having been unsuccessful in defeating Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes.

That being said, Paul has been impressive in his WWE run so far. The highlight was winning the United States Championship from Rey Mysterio. However, his lengthy reign was undermined by a lack of title defenses, three over 273 days.

Naturally, Gunther, the current World Heavyweight Champion has weighed in on Paul's bold challenge.

"Well, he's obviously a very talented man," Gunther said. "Athletically, but also in the entertainment world. He's the jack of all trades, as they say. But I don't believe World Heavyweight Champion is one of them. That being said, I think my English is pretty good by now, but I'll make it even simpler."

"If Logan Paul thinks he can walk in here and take this away from me, if he ever makes it to the top of the line to challenge me for the World Heavyweight Championship, it will be my duty and my pleasure to slap that stupid smirk out of his face."

With this and his interactions with Ludwig Kaiser, it's clear that WWE is pushing to make Gunther a more hero-like character. And if you want to make someone seem more likable, putting them against Logan Paul is a great way to do that.
