Media personality Gypsy Rose Blanchard has kicked off the new year with thrilling news as she announces the arrival of her first child.

Gypsy has joyously welcomed a baby girl, named Aurora Raina Urker, with her partner Ken Urker, it has been revealed. The bundle of joy was born on December 28, just three days post-Christmas and one year after she was released from prison. Elated father Ken simply stated to TMZ: "Aurora is healthy and we are so happy."

The couple noted the striking coincidence that their daughter's birth fell exactly one year after Gypsy's release from jail. Gypsy, now aged 33, served eight years for her role in her mother Dee Dee Blanchard's killing. Although the timing is peculiar, the pair are eager to leave behind old woes and begin anew with their little family.

During a December baby shower at LARC's Acadian Village in Lafayette, Gypsy expressed her gratitude to People: "Ken and I were so excited to have a beautiful celebration that our daughter Aurora Raina Urker can look back on and see how our community welcomed and embraced her with love. She will be supported and given all the happiness a child should experience."

The couple previously excited fans with an Instagram video revealing they're having a baby girl. Gypsy Rose gushed in the post: "The moment y'all have been waiting for... It's a girl! Ken and I are over the moon and are so excited to start our family. We're so thankful for our friends, neighbors, and families who came to our party today! We also want to thank ya'll for your love and support!"

This comes as Gypsy and her ex-husband Ryan Anderson have officially ended their two-year marriage. Their divorce was finalised on Dec. 10, just before Gypsy welcomed her baby, following months of legal wrangling in divorce court. The divorce settlement was uncontested, with Ryan's lawyer stating that the pair had been living separately for months. Neither Gypsy Rose nor Ryan will receive any spousal support.
