Helen Flanagan has courageously shared that only recently has she started to eat bread again, after suffering from an eating disorder since she was 16.
The actress, 34, known for her role as Rosie Webster on Coronation Street, has spoken about her struggles and the positive influence motherhood has had on her recovery. Gaining fame at a tender age of 10 on the cobbles, Helen quickly became a household name.
Explaining her past challenges on the podcast, The Life Of Bryony, she recalled: "I remember kind of like school nurse being involved and like Coronation Street."
Further citing as reported by OK! that "They would call my mum up, and she was like, 'Helen, you'll lose your job'. And I think it was just a sense of control."
Blessed with children Matilda, nine, Delilah, six, and Charlie, three, with her ex-partner Scott Sinclair, Helen revealed how parenthood has prompted her to embrace healthier eating habits to set a "good example" for her little ones.
She expressed her sentiments strongly: "I think having Matilda for me is a really good, like, I need to be a good example because it, I would hate for her to have an eating disorder because it's f*****g miserable,".
Delving into her personal experiences, Helen elaborated on her dietary changes, stating: "I've just started to eat bread again because I just wouldn't touch it. When I got into this thing where, like, me and my ex-fiance split up, that I just suddenly was like, I'm not touching bread and I'm not touching pasta. I get these, like, weird little quirks that I do with my food."

Following her previous break up with Scott in 2022, Helen has found new joy in a relationship with Robbie Talbot. She has openly expressed her contentment to OK! saying that she feels "really happy" within herself since partnering up with Robbie.
Their romantic journey began shortly before Helen committed to E4's Celebs Go Dating by signing the contract after they first met in February in Alderley Edge.
Reflecting on the timing, Helen mentioned: "I'd always wanted to do the show, it was a great opportunity," to which Robbie added insight into their initial dating phase, stating: "We weren't serious at that point, we were just dating. And we communicated the whole way through. I knew all along what was happening."
Now, eight months later, the couple is flourishing, and Helen isn't shy about her future aspirations: "I still dream about a big wedding," she shared. "I want the dress, the big day, all of it. I definitely want to get married."
