If you don't know, Gladiator II is now officially out, but before you go and see the sequel in theaters, below are some of the top moments you may want to remember from Gladiator.

There are obviously MASSIVE spoilers ahead for 'Gladiator'!

1. Maximus Decimus Meridius was a highly respected Roman general.

2. Marcus Aurelius was the ruler of Rome in 180 CE and had two children, Lucilla and Commodus.

3. Lucilla and Maximus once had a relationship before he was married.

4. Marcus Aurelius asked Maximus to become Caesar after he dies.

5. Commodus and his father, Marcus, had a difficult relationship — and he kills his father.

6. Maximus was ordered to be killed but escaped. His wife and son, unfortunately, had a different fate.

7. Maximus became a gladiator after meeting Proximo.

8. Lucilla tried to dethrone her brother Commodus.

9. Lucius was enamored with Maximus instead of his Uncle Commodus.

10. And finally, Maximus and Commodus end up in the Colosseum.
