A rail line is adding a new twist to high-speed travel with the launch of its very own craft beer.
Western European rail service Eurostar is making waves with a unique offering for its travelers: a signature craft beer exclusive to its high-speed trains.
Building on a partnership that began last year, Eurostar and London-based brewery Two Tribes have expanded their craft beer lineup with a second installment of the NOMAD series, a hazy Indian pale ale (IPA) specifically designed to complement the journey experience between London, Paris and Brussels.
With 51 trains, Eurostar operates the most extensive international high-speed rail network in Western Europe, reaching 28 destinations across Germany, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. The rail service, which carried over 18 million passengers last year, first partnered with Two Tribes in June of last year with the launch of the NOMAD pale ale.
"These partnerships enhance the onboard experience with unique, high-quality options that align with our brand and customer interests, offering something special for Eurostar travelers," Eurostar told Newsweek. "For us, our beer collaboration also reflects the rich beer heritage of our destination countries."
According to last week's announcement, the new IPA will be available exclusively to Eurostar customers in Business Premier, Standard Premier, Café Metropole and London's Business Lounge from November 1. It is "inspired by Eurostar's key destinations."
"This 4.3% ABV, session-strength IPA is brewed with Citra and Cascade hops alongside German-grown Solero and locally sourced ingredients from the UK," Eurostar said. "Sourced from Eurostar destinations like the UK and Germany, the beer reflects Eurostar's commitment to delivering high-quality, locally inspired products onboard."
"We are excited to continue our collaboration with Two Tribes following the success of NOMAD over the past year," said Florent Laurandel, Eurostar Head of Ground and Onboard Services.
"Working with a local independent business that shares our values of quality and sustainability is something we're incredibly proud of. The new IPA not only offers a unique and refreshing experience but also reflects our commitment to providing high-quality, locally crafted products for our customers to enjoy."
Mike Shuster, Two Tribes' commercial director, said that the NOMAD IPA captures the essence of adventure.
"We are excited to be releasing a new edition of NOMAD beer onboard Eurostar," Shuster said. "We have designed and brewed the beer to reflect the excitement you feel when travelling on their journeys.
