Macaulay Culkin is suspected to have reprised his role as Kevin McAllister - but could it all be a big hoax?
While the Hollywood star has since moved on to other projects in the likes of American Horror Story, Macaulay Culkin was once better known as the witty schoolboy, who was once left alone by his own family in Home Alone, which has since been speculated to share a connection with The Nightmare Before Christmas.
The blockbuster comedy inspired a franchise, multiple movies and even two series, with the actor reappearing as Kevin in the 1992 film Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. And Macaulay's fans now believe he could take on the role once again at 44 years old.
Speculation became rife on social media after a post of Macaulay Culkin alongside on-screen mother Catherine O'Hara circulated, with the pair seemingly promoting another sequel titled Cabin Alone.

"NEW HOME ALONE!!! KEVIN AND HIS MOM!!!", the caption first reads. "This Christmas, Kevin McCallister and his mom arrive early to their family’s remote cabin, only to learn the rest of the family’s flight is delayed. When Marv and Harry target the supposedly empty cabin, Kevin and his mom join forces to defend it in the ultimate showdown."
In this post, it has been claimed that Cabin Alone will be due for "streaming on Disney+ this December", but some fans have shared their scepticism, particularly as the streaming giant has yet to confirm the news. Over in the comment section, many Facebook users were happy to hear of the sequel's upcoming arrival online while others spotted the trick from a mile away.
"The amount of people falling for this is astonishing", one of them notably wrote, while another continued: "Ummm. This looks so photoshopped." And they were right to doubt the post - the page description for the Facebook account states: "I'm just here to eat frogs, lift rocks and be satirical. The page is 100% satire and fake news."
Released in 1990 for the first time, Home Alone and Home Alone 2, made way for a popular Christmas franchise to take the world by storm. Four other films were released following the original movies, with different actors in the lead role. But Macaulay doesn't appear opposed to returning to Home Alone.
Back in September, it was revealed by The Sun he would be hosting a US-wide tour called Home Alone: A Nostalgic Night. Presenter Carson Daly revealed all the details, teasing the tour would begin in November and will visit states such as Ohio and Illinois. Macaulay then shared the news with his Instagram followers, with many demanding him to visit more states.
