Sister Wives stars Kody Brown and Robyn Brown are living large in their new $2.1 million home in Flagstaff, Arizona, but In Touch can confirm they relied on a large bank loan to finance this major purchase.
Kody, 55, and Robyn, 45, made a down payment of $420,000 on the 7,884-square-foot home and took out a loan of $1,680,000 to complete the purchase, according to the warrant deed obtained by In Touch.
In Touch confirmed the couple purchased the new six-bedroom, seven-bedroom home on October 24 through their trust, White Stone Trust. The large property features an additional guest home, a detached RV garage and space for seven cars.
The major purchase follows In Touch’s exclusive reporting that Kody and Robyn listed their former Flagstaff house for sale for $1,650,000 on August 29. However, they ultimately removed the property from the market in early October without selling it.
Although it’s unclear what motivated the pair to take the home off the market, it happened amid a child support and custody lawsuit filed by Kody’s ex-wife Christine Brown. In the September 16 filing, Christine, 52, asked the court to establish paternity of her and Kody’s youngest child, Truely, because the patriarch isn’t currently named on her birth certificate.
In addition, Christine — who shares six kids with her ex — requested a domestic relations injunction that stops both parties from harassment, domestic violence, canceling or modifying services, taking the children for nonroutine travel without court orders or permission and demeaning or disparaging the other party.
More than a month later, In Touch confirmed that the father of 18 hired a lawyer and filed a response to Christine’s lawsuit on October 23.
Christine announced her separation from Kody in November 2021 and soon after relocated with their youngest daughter from Flagstaff to Utah. In addition to Truely, the former couple shares kids Mykelti, Aspyn, Gwendlyn, Ysabel and Paedon.
At the time, the mom of six believed moving “was the best choice” for Truely.
“I knew that I was taking Truely away from her dad. I felt like the best way to preserve Truely’s relationship with Kody was to move her away from him,” she during an October 2023 episode of the family’s reality show.
Christine felt that relocating her daughter “froze” her connection to her father as they were in a healthy place at the time. Kody is known for having strained relationships with most of his children after separating from Christine, Janelle Brown and Meri Brown, while remaining married to his “favorite” wife, Robyn. “I took their relationship while it was still good and I picked it up and I moved it,” Christine said in a confessional. “And then whenever we come back into town, I just pick it up again and I move it back.”
Meanwhile, Kody disagreed with his ex and criticized her reasoning for the decision. “For Christine to think that she’s saving my relationship with Truely by taking her away from me and just ‘preserving’ it — that’s such B.S. rationalization,” the Brown patriarch said in his own confessional, adding that the situation was “ridiculous.”
