I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! star, Jane Moore, kept her shock split with her husband a secret for a heart-wrenching reason.

The mum-of-three, 62, announced she had called time on her 20-year marriage with Gary Farrow live on Loose Women in 2022. However, the pair had been "processing" the split for "about a year" so Gary, who is the father of Jane's three daughters, could recover after breaking his leg.

Speaking about separating from her husband, live on Loose Women, Jane said: "It's weird that it's out there [in public] because we've been processing it for about a year. So we're both quite private people. We had discussed it last year... it was going to happen last year. And then he fell and broke his leg and, no, I didn't push him. Just want to put that out there. He fell and broke his leg. And obviously, then all bets are off. "

Adding that her kids and family knew about the split when it happened, she continued: "I would hope he would say I'm his best friend. And I'm keen that we don't lose that element. I have been sort of caring for him in that sense of the word. It's enabled us to sort of segue to process it first of all, and to sort of segue nicely into a really good friendship. We were still in the same house together, we are still going to do Christmas together."

Gary, who formerly worked as the VP of communications at Sony record label, runs a PR agency called The Corporation Group. He married Jane in 2002 in a lavish ceremony Claridge’s Hotel in London. The guest list was of course star-studded with Sir Elton John serving as best man and actress Barbara Windsor and TV host Jonathan Ross in attendance.

The couple share three daughters, two of whom have arrived in Australia to support Jane while she's on I'm A Celebrity. When asked whether they thought the seasoned journalist was looking forward to her gruelling underwater trial in tonight's show, Ellie and Grace pointed out that Jane had "asked for it".

The columnist has looked distinctly downbeat since making her debut on the show as the other celebrities got chosen to do the trials. However, as she limbers up Fright at the End of the Tunnel with Maura Higgins, Ellie and Grace said: "She's wanted to a do a trial since the beginning. I think she's going to absolutely smash it." However, revealing a trial with water would have been Jane's least favourite task, they said: "Probably something with water [would be the worst], which happens to be the one we've got her into, but she asked for it."

Explaining their mum gets "bored easily", they continued: "She's probably got ants in her pants - quite literally. She's not good at sitting still. She's probably just really excited to do something. She went in wanting the adventure and if you came out the other side having not done a trial I think she would have been really disappointed."

I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! airs tonight at 9pm on ITV1, STV and ITVX.
