It’s official. Vanderpump Rules is returning for Season 12, but there’s a catch. The show is getting rebooted, with an entirely new cast.

Lisa Vanderpump will return for Season 12 of VPR with an all-new cast of SUR-vers. They’re going back to the basics, which means we can say goodbye to Tom Sandoval, Ariana Madix, and the rest of the Pump Rules crew. Bravo basically just gave them all pink slips.

Although we haven’t heard specifics about the Season 12 cast, a press release from Bravo promised that the new generation would build upon the legacy of the original show. The release that the new cast consisted of who are as “complicatedly involved with one another as their iconic predecessors.”

The synopsis teased, “Under Lisa Vanderpump’s watchful eye, the West Hollywood mainstay SUR — and now TomTom — welcomes the next batch of servers, hosts and bartenders rife with plenty of drama, situationships and frenemies.”

The news of Season 12 comes after months of speculation surrounding the future of Pump Rules. When Bravo announced that the show would be going on hiatus after Season 11, the rumors started swirling about what would happen next.

Some of the cast members, like Scheana Shay, campaigned for the show to return for another season. She argued that they owed it to the audience. Meanwhile, Lala Kent openly advocated against the show, claiming that there was “no story left to tell.”

Even as recently as last month, insiders claimed that Bravo was still considering bringing back the original Pump Rules crew. However, reports suggested that salary negotiations and cast infighting were delaying any progress on moving forward. Either Bravo got sick of trying, or there was never any truth to those rumors.

Regardless, we’ll have to stay tuned to see how the new generation of Vanderpump Rules shakes out. Until then, you can catch some of the OG Pump Rules cast over on The Valley. That’s officially where VPR stars go to retire.

Plus, Bravo plans to air a “retrospective” to commemorate the past 11 seasons.
