It’s that time of year again! In anticipation of the new season of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, casting rumors are spreading like mad. Naturally, Ant and Dec are hosting once again. The legendary duo previously said no more politicians – did they get their wish? Who’s going to the jungle in 2024? Is anyone as controversial as last year’s contestant Jamie Lynn Spears? We’re breaking down the rumored stars whose names keep coming up for the I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here 2024 cast.
Coleen Rooney
Coleen Rooney was already super famous in the UK, as the wife of footballer Wayne Rooney. But she reached a new level of international celebrity with four words: “It’s…Rebekah Vardy’s account.” In 2019, the WAG announced on Instagram that she uncovered who was selling stories about her to a tabloid. She laid it all out like Hercule Poirot. After posting fake Instagram stories for only Rebekah (who appeared on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here in 2017) to see, her suspicions were confirmed when the fibs showed up in The Sun. As a result, Coleen earned the nickname WAGatha Christie. When Rebekah sued Coleen for libel, the trial itself went viral, due to many bizarre details. Ultimately, Coleen won.
Since then, Coleen’s sleuthing inspired an Oliver Award-nominated play on the West End, a tv movie, and her own Disney+ documentary. So, yeah, she’s pretty iconic. This would be a big get for I’m a Celebrity 2024. Coleen’s internet breaking moment shows some tactful bonafides that could help her master the jungle.
The Vivienne
The Vivienne is best known for RuPaul’s Drag Race, serving as the UK ambassador in 2015, and then winning the first season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK in 2019. Then, in 2022, The Vivienne was the only Brit to compete on Season 7 of All Stars. In the years since, The Vivienne went on to appear on other reality shows, including Dancing on Ice, and has a successful acting career. If these casting rumors are true, The Vivienne will be I’m a Celebrity’s first drag queen contestant, which feels long overdue.
Tommy Fury
Tommy Fury recently made headlines for his shocking split with Molly-Mae Hague. The Love Island UK Season 5 runners-up were a fan favorite couple. They were together for five years, which is rare with couples from that show. After welcoming a daughter named Bambi, they got engaged. However, Molly-Mae announced their split in August, cryptically writing on Instagram that she never expected it to end, especially not “in that way.” This lead to rumors Tommy cheated, which he denied. Surely, viewers will be interested to see if the boxer shares any details about the break up on I’m a Celebrity.
On LI UK, Tommy had many hysterical moments during the silly challenges. Including when he made Maura Higgins a truly disgusting cheese toastie when she chose him for a date. Tommy also participated in the show’s infamous food challenge, where contestants have to spit food into their partner’s mouth. I’m a Celebrity’s Bushtucker eating trials might be a breeze by comparison!
Giovanni Pernice
Reportedly dancing his way into the jungle is Giovanni Pernice of Strictly Come Dancing fame. Other Strictly pros who previously competed on I’m a Celebrity include AJ Pritchard. However, Giovanni’s rumored spot in the I’m a Celebrity 2024 cast is interesting, because of a recent scandal.
After multiple celeb partners’ complaints about his training methods, and Sherlock actress Amanda Abbington’s bullying allegations, the Italian pro dancer quit the show. Two months later, an investigation substantiated a few of Amanda’s allegations, and the BBC publicly apologized to her. Before that controversy, Giovanni made headlines for dating Maura Higgins. Also, he holds two Guinness World Records.
Harry Clarke
Harry Clark rose to fame on the latest season of The Traitors UK. Unlike the USA version of The Traitors with just celebrities (mostly reality tv stars) in the cast, the UK version features non-celebrities. Harry was one of the three Traitors, and ended up winning the competition.
The Season 1 winner, Aaron Evans, later appeared on Love Island USA Season 6. While Aaron traded the castle for the villa, Harry is reportedly trading it for the jungle. Will Harry continue his 2024 reality competition series winning streak with I’m a Celebrity?
Zara McDermott
The second Love Island alum rumored to join the 2024 cast is Zara McDermott. After LI UK, she appeared on Made in Chelsea, Strictly Come Dancing, and the celebrity The X-Factor. She’s presented multiple documentaries, including about her own experiences regarding revenge porn and disordered eating. The National Television Awards nominee recently hosted a series about the Moscow, Idaho murders.
Since 2019, Zara is in a relationship with fellow presenter Sam Thompson, who was previously on I’m a Celeb 2023. As a matter of fact, Sam won last season’s I’m a Celebrity, defeating boxer and Creed actor Tony Bellow. Will Zara follow in her partner’s footsteps and win in 2024? We’ll have to wait and see if the celebrity couple is crowned King and Queen of the Jungle!
Alan Halsall
Unlike many of the rumored names for I’m a Celebrity 2024, actor Alan Halsall isn’t a reality tv competition series regular. But he’s a very familiar face for British audiences, and specifically ITV viewers. The Coronation Street star won a National Television Award for his performance as Tyrone Dobbs in 2013. A number of actors from Coronation Street appeared on I’m a Celeb over the years. Two series stars were runners-up on previous I’m a Celebrity seasons. Could Alan be the first Coronation Street actor to win?
Denise Van Outen
Denise Van Outen first came to fame on The Big Breakfast. She’s appeared on stage numerous times, including in the role of Roxie Hart in Chicago, a favorite of reality tv stars. Denise also has deep history with British reality tv. She’s the narrator for TOWIE (The Only Way Is Essex) and everything! She was a runner-up on Strictly, although her vast stage experience made her a controversial contestant, much like many Dancing With The Stars alums. She also appeared on The Masked Singer, coming in fifth place. Denise also took on some physical feats for charity, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and The Great Wall of China.
Alex Beresford
Another rumored I’m a Celeb 2024 contestant is ITV weatherman Alex Beresford. In 2021, the presenter made waves for defending Meghan Markle, much to Pierce Morgan’s chagrin. In fact, Pierce infamously walked off the Good Morning Britain set instead of listening to Alex.
Previously, the reporter competed on Dancing on Ice. He was also a contestant on the celebrity edition of game shows Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and The Chase.
If Alex is confirmed for I’m a Celebrity, it wouldn’t be the biggest milestone of his 2024. The tv personality, who just turned 44, announced he and wife Imogen McKay are expecting their first child together. Alex has a son from a previous relationship.
Olivia Atwood
Like Tommy and Zara, Olivia Atwood is a Love Island UK alum. Next to Tommy’s ex-fiance Molly-Mae, she is probably the most successful former contestant. Olivia launched her Season 3 run into an acclaimed presenting and presenting career.
Olivia’s hilarious one-liners and outspoken personality lead to many viral moments on LI UK. Years later, they still pop up as TikTok soundbites.
If you’re a loyal I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here viewer, you might feel some deja vu. In fact, Olivia was in the cast of Season 22. However, she withdrew on Day 2. If the I’m a Celeb 2024 cast rumors are true, fans will look forward to her second try.
