I tried and tested the air fryer that's 'better than Ninja' and also cheaper

I put the huge COSORI Dual Blaze TwinFry to the test

I'm now on my third air fryer, after starting small and working my way up. I hate kitchen clutter, so when I first took the plunge into the air fryer world, I opted for a tiny thing that would neatly sit on the counter, almost out of sight.

But back then I was a newbie. I'd maybe do the odd bit of bacon, or a quick few nuggets when my son was hungry. I was only dipping my toes in.

Fast forward 18 months or so, and I'm fully converted. Why would you use an oven when you could use an air fryer? So it was time to get a much bigger one, one I can use to cook meals for my family, rather than the occasional snack or breakfast.

When it came to finding the right one, I was almost scared to start Googling. I feared I'd lose hours of my life going down rabbit holes, precious time I'd never get back. As someone who doesn't live under a rock, however, I was very aware of the Ninja gadgets, and how high a reputation they have.

I was eyeing up the Ninja Foodi FlexDrawer Dual Air Fryer, which has a huge 10.4l capacity, comes with seven cooking functions, and is said to cook "quick family-size meals", but as my previous air fryers have been COSORI ones, I thought I'd have a quick look at what they had to offer, too. Imagine my surprise when I found one of theirs on Amazon that many happy purchasers hailed "better than Ninja".

The COSORI Dual Blaze TwinFry is ever so slightly smaller, with an exactly 10l capacity, but it is big enough. Like the Ninja version, its basket can be split into two counterparts, with a removable division if you want to cook something bigger.

I can't believe how quickly the potatoes cooked - and they were perfectly crispy

It has eight cooking functions - one more than the Ninja - and is said to be up to 65% faster and 45% more energy efficient than standard ovens. It's also slightly cheaper than the Ninja device, currently sold at £209.99 on Amazon, compared to Ninja's £217 price tag.

Eagerly, I tried and tested it out with some simple crispy potatoes. I know air fryers cook quickly, obviously, but I was surprised at how speedy my side dish was - less than eight minutes turned chopped spuds into something delicious. I also love the sleek design of the air fryer, and its easy-to-use touchscreen, and it is less noisy than other similar gadgets.

While I've never owned a Ninja air fryer, I have used some belonging to friends and family members. I don't know if the COSORI version is better, but it's definitely at least as good as.
