Amy Nuttall is set to grace our screens in the finale of the latest season of BBC's Silent Witness, in which she will portray the character Peggy. The first part of the two-episode finale is scheduled for 3 February, with the concluding episode airing on 4 February.

Amy, 42, is no stranger to the small screen, having featured in numerous popular TV shows and films throughout her career. Soap enthusiasts will remember her as Chloe Atkinson from Emmerdale, a role she played from 2000 to 2005.

She's also recognised for her portrayal of Ethel Parks in Downton Abbey, and more recently, Lisa Castleton in ITV's Mr Bates vs The Post Office, as well as Jane Butterfield in the successful film Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

Hailing from Blackburn, Amy has had an illustrious acting career. She honed her skills at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts, which led her to perform with the National Youth Music Theatre in the 1990s.

In addition to her extensive TV and film credits, Amy holds the record as the youngest actress to ever understudy and play the lead role of Christine in The Phantom of the Opera, being just 17 years old at the time, reports Plymouth Live.

Off-screen, Amy is a devoted mother to a daughter and a son, whom she largely keeps away from the public eye. She shares her children with ex-husband Andrew Buchan.

Andrew, 45, is an actor and writer, celebrated for his roles in Broadchurch, Party Animals, The Fixer and Garrow's Law. Most recently, he appeared in six episodes of Netflix's Black Doves.

Amy and Andrew exchanged vows in 2012, but unfortunately their union ended towards the close of 2022. News of their separation surfaced in February 2023, suggesting it was the second instance the pair had chosen to go their separate ways.

Rumours persist about Andrew's alleged infidelity to Amy, with widespread reports linking him to a dalliance with Leila Farzad, his co-star on the BBC show Better with.

Neither Amy nor Andrew have made any public statements regarding the dissolution of their marriage.

Silent Witness airs on BBC One on Monday, February 3 at 9pm
