90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star Gabriel “Gabe” Paboga made history by being the first transgender person to appear in the franchise, where he debuted his romance with Colombia native Isabel Posada. Unfortunately, their love did not last, and they announced their separation less than a year later. Why Did ‘90 Day Fiance’ Stars Gabe and Isabel Split?
Gabe announced his split from Isabel in February 2024, telling fans he felt “betrayed” and “used” in a video posted to his YouTube channel.
“I had everything taken away from me and I’m left with nothing. Nothing at all. I have nothing to my name,” Gabriel told viewers. The former Florida resident also shared that his demanding work schedule was leaving him exhausted and that he was on the brink of losing his apartment in Colombia.
“I won’t go into specifics, but I’m just tired and I can’t put up a front anymore. I’m tired, I’m working 18 hours almost every day … My business is going down. It’s nothing now. All I do is work and work and work and I have nothing to show. Nothing at all. I have nothing,” he said in a heartbreaking voice. The 90 Day Fiancé alum said things were difficult, adding that he “never expected my life to end up like this, never in a million years.”
“But I’m just, I can’t defend this anymore. I feel like it was just … everything was just an act and I’m hurting, I’m hurting a lot and I have nothing. I feel embarrassed …. I feel like why did this even happen?” he continued. “I don’t want to get into specifics of things that happened. But this can be put to rest, it’s done.”
Months later, he provided further details about the breakup in June 2024 after launching a GoFundMe, reiterating that he “had nothing” due to his estranged wife.
The reality star said that after his TV wedding to Isabel, everything “went downhill very quickly.” After being forced to return to Florida due to his bank account being hacked, he said his wife “did many shady things.”
“MONTHS of rent money I was sending was not going towards rent and the money I sent for my business (GMP Wear) was also not going towards that was well,” he wrote in the description. “When I returned to Colombia, I was almost $3000 in the hole from missed rent, fees and fines which I was unaware of (what a great surprise) as well as nobody knew where my wife was for about 2 weeks, just disappeared, and still to this day she would not tell us where she was.”
Gabe said Isabel was meant to be taking care of the apartment, telling his followers, “That was not the case.”
“Currently me and my wife are separated, we do not talk, I don’t know where she is and maybe that’s for the best,” he concluded. “I just want to get my life back together again. My head is underwater and I am drowning.”
Isabel has yet to publicly respond to Gabe’s claims.

Gabe revealed in an October 2024 Q&A with fans that he and Isabel have yet to divorce. In addition, fans asked if he had started dating yet, replying, “NOT READY, but I’m NEVER READY, I just go with the flow and if I happen to like someone then I’ll go with it.”
