I'm a Celeb: Coleen Rooney discusses Wagatha case

ITV chiefs are reportedly eager for Wayne Rooney to make a cameo during the I'm A Celebrity series while his wife Coleen Ronney is in the jungle.

Insiders reveal that producers are devising strategies to involve the former footballer, following the popularity of segments featuring Coleen discussing her marriage.

They're considering reviving a challenge that allows contestants to win brief calls from relatives, potentially putting Wayne on the other end of the iconic red phonebox call.

Anticipation also builds around the prospect of Wayne penning the heartfelt letter traditionally sent to finalists or even delivering a video message alongside their children if Coleen reaches the last leg of the competition.

An insider disclosed: “Bosses like to keep the contestants isolated from the outside world as much as possible.

“But towards the end of the series they will offer up little prizes which allow access to loved ones like the letters from home and sometimes calls from home and maybe even videos could happen.”

The source added: “People loved it when Harry Redknapp was reunited with his wife Sandra in camp.

“That can't happen as Wayne isn't going to Australia so they are looking at other options to get him involved as they know it would be a big hit with viewers and Coleen,” reports the Mirror.

Reality TV star Coleen has delightedly shared her most cherished item in the jungle camp a pillow adorned with a treasured family photo featuring her husband and their four children.

She candidly recalled the early days of their romance, telling her campmates how she used to be sheepish about his rides in flashy cars: "I was still at school when he was playing for Everton.

“I used to walk out and all the girls were going, 'Whose is that car there?' And he was in a Bentley and something else and there's Wayne in the passenger seat with his arm out and one of the players like Thomas Gravesen.”

She continued her charming anecdotes, revealing a youthful act of devotion by Wayne: “I just used to get embarrassed" making it clear that the luxury cars weren't his, "He just used to get a lift home!"

Meanwhile, Wayne's way of showing his affection came up when she told of how he had her name tattooed on himself only after a brief period of dating.

Coleen shared: “I had not long been going with him. I go to this party later on, and he's going to everybody like this [mocks showing her arm]. He'd got my name tattooed on him! At 17!”

While Wayne's commitments as manager of Plymouth Argyle mean he can't fly out to Australia, two of the Rooney offspring will be giving Coleen their support from Down Under. She's eagerly awaiting the day she reunites with her brood Kai, 15, Klay, 11, Kit, 8, and Cass, six whose plans may well reflect their father's football passions as not all are joining her in Australia.

Before entering the camp, she revealed to the Mirror: “My two youngest ones are coming over. They all had the option but the two older ones decided that they would stay at home to continue with school and football.

“I think I said when you come you'll have to bring your work with you, and they would be missing some football tournaments, so they quickly changed their minds!”
